1st of all it sounds as though even before you started taking the pill that you were clinically depressed. As far as the pill - speaking from personal experience - not only did the pill make me extremely ill for the first week I took them, but I turned into a psychotic maniac. I hated everyone and everything around me. Some women and some forms of the birth control pill just don't mix. For example - if you normally have a high hormone level, and the pill they give you is also a high dosage of hormones, then you are on extreme hormone overdrive, causing you to think crazy things.
If I were you, I would go to your doctor immediately and ask if you could please be put on some other form of birth control - one that doesn't change your hormonal level so much.
As far as having had suicidal thoughts - you need to get some help for that. That clearly is not a normal thought - any time.
You perhaps need to be put on an anti-depressant and go to some guidance counseling or something.
Seek help - it's out there to be had.

Thoughts of suicide and depression is a complicated subject and isn't easily solved by throwing pills at it. Unfortunately, that is about all the "help" you get from doctors, counselors, etc. It seems rather obvious that there is a hormone situation at work here. Personally, I would drop the pills at least for awhile and use other birth control methods like condoms. Resolve to be self-reliant and learn as much as you can about the subject from other people, books, on the web, etc. Be SURE not to exclude those who are considered "alternative" health practictioners. I have suffered it myself and have learned a lot about it, and am in the process of slowly weaning myself off the Prozac they had me on for 15 years. Never go cold turkey off any of the meds they put you on. Withdrawal symptoms (including depression, yes a side effect of withdrawal) can last for years if you don't withdraw slowly enough. Reduce no more than 10% of your dose at a time and wait 3 weeks or more between cuts. I believe a start on the quest for help should start with taking fish oil for omega 3, start taking whole food supplements like Alive! or Garden of Eden, and stop eating sugar, soda pop, and high carbohydrate white flour food. Depending on the financial resources at your deposal, there are clincis (one in Illinois), and different supplements you can try. Start reading up on the subject and don't just hand yourself over to so-called experts who claim (without proof of success) to know what they are doing. They may believe it because that is what they learned in college, but they can be and are, often, wrong.

Suicide is a permanent answer to a temporary problem. What kind of pills are you taking? If I had taken my life every time I have felt like it I would have missed out on so much. When you are in the pit it's hard to get out on your own. You need to seek professional help and also get into the Word. Read Psalms 91. The Lord is always with you even when no one else is or you don't feel Him there. Surrender to Him and watch the miracles begin!!

If you popped enough pills to end up seeing a doctor and that doctor let you just go home afterwards then instead of killing yourself why not start a lawsuit against that doctor for negligence. You told him you took the pills to kill yourself and he said you were lucky to be alive and should have pumped your stomach and got you a mental health professional to speak to you right away.

I don't even know you and I care! I feel very sorry that you are feeling this way. Suicide seems like an easy escape, but its not. Don't let your emotions get the better of you. You WILL pull through this...life continues and in three weeks, things will be so different than they are right now. You need to learn to not live "in the moment" This is where karate kid might help. Depression takes control, and you have to take it back. Please, remember, that somebody always cares....the world might be full of losers, but not everyone sucks...you don't :)

You are having a reaction. Please, STOP taking the pills completely. Call your doctor and explain whats going on, and/or go to the hospital. If you have continued taking the pills in excess, forget what I said prior and go straight to the hospital. Take the pill bottle with you (empty it into the toilet before hand tho! to prevent temptation to take while in route). Seek help anyway you can, serioulsy, before you cause your body irreversabile harm and regret it!

You need to tell your doctor. Get off of that particular prescription and try something else. Don't kill yourself. Think about how sad the people that you leave behind would be. Also things ALWAYS get better!
