I was very inspired at a party by someone who mentors woman that are young in the Lord. Although I am in my 30s my desire is to encourage teach and bless the young girls in my life. What are godly ways to be a mentor in womans lives? What are your experiences on being a mentor?

Pray about it. God will open doors if you are willing and able to walk through them. He just might bring someone along that you can encourage and be a friend to. I have mentored a few people, it just sort of happened, I didn't seek it, but I guess you can say that I needed a friend and it turned out that they needed me. I can say that looking back, but when it started I don't I understood what was happening.

THINK LONG and HARD about this!!

The Epistle of James:

3:1 Only a few of you, my brothers, should be teachers, bearing in mind that we shall receive a stricter judgement. 2 For we all trip up in many ways. Someone who does not trip up in speech has reached perfection and is able to keep the whole body on a tight rein. 3 Once we put a bit in the horse's mouth, to make it do what we want, we have the whole animal under our control. 4 Or think of ships: no matter how big they are, even if a gale is driving them, they are directed by a tiny rudder wherever the whim of the helmsman decides.

I had a mentor once. She really helped me with my spirituality. Allthough in the end I decided that Christianity was not for me, I still remember some important life lessons she taught me. I still regard her as one of my favorite people.

2 scriptures that i hold as my promise that have always helped me ....

James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

2 Peter 3:14

14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

leave the rest to god...just make sure what you teach is his word and he will bless it
