speaker not working in win xp?

Hai,

I had win 98 and my speakers connected to system(external) was working fine. yesterday i just overinstalled (upgraded) win xp on my machine. now i can't listen to any songs.
i checked sounds in control panel. when i click on audio tab, everything is disabled. how to solve this problem ?
all connection, speaker everything is ok.

Try going to My computer settings audio and making sure it's up on all channels.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
