Look at your ticket. Are you sure it is for speeding? In this state,it is broken down like this: 15 miles over the limit is one fine, up to 30 miles over the limit, a much stiffer fine. But exceeding the limit more than 30 mph is Reckless Driving. That is usually a huge fine, loss of license and night classes.

Varies state to state. Here if the officer arrested you for reckless driving you'd look at up to a year in jail and a $6,250 fine.

If you just received a speeding ticket, it would cost $1,105 and a license suspension of 30 to 90 days.

Here's our breakdown for speeding fines for most roadways. School / work zones are double. On the freeway they start at step two below, so there is no $99 fine.

1-10 over = $99
11-20 over = $147
21-30 over = $244
31+ over = $429
100 mph + = $1,105 and automatic suspension

Depends on where you were but in most places you will be lucky if that's not charged as reckless driving. If you get by with a speeding ticket, pay it at once and run for the door because you just got lucky.

Anything over 25 miles above the speed limit is considered reckless driving. It can get you jail time and a HUGE fine. Oh! And your license can be suspended for up to a year.

Like they motto of an old TV program called Barrette says, "If you can't do the time , don't do the crime."

You mean you were going 53 MPH OVER the speed limit?

In NJ/NY/CT/MA/PA/DE and most other states, if you are in excess of 20 miles over the legal limit, you stand a good chance of having your license suspended for 30 days (minimum) at the least. Also, be prepared to take a DEFENSIVE DRIVING course (court ordered, of course) in order to get your license back. Oh, and let's not forget about those INSURANCE SURCHARGES that will be inflicted upon you for at least 3 years !

Good luck, speedo !!!

more than likey u will loose your licence for 6 months or so and will have a huge fine. I have even heard of people going to jail for less than that. Your fine will depend on where u are but my best guess would be at least $300.

I believe that is an automatic Reckless Driving in FL. If that is the case, the fine may be the least of your problem.

$200 in PA. I did 70 in 35 & doubling is licence removal/suspension, or a big fine & lots of points.

ur lucky in 'conservative' virginia you would have been arrested, but you'll more than likely get a reckless driving ticket. which is like getting a DUI, as far insurance rates.
