The reason that I know that God exists is that he has proven it time and time again to me. When I was pregnant with my 1st child, I live in a homeless shelter from my 5th month of pregancy until my 8th month. My parents would not help me out in ANY!!! way, and the father of the baby contiually promised that he was going to take the baby from me as soon as it was born, even offered to pay me $2000.00 to,"just sign away my rights." Guess what, I didn't do that, and I didn't ask ANYONE here on earth for help, was embarrassed to tell anyone that I was living in a homeless shelter, then one day, a man who was a regular at the resteraunt I was waitressing at watched me walk home without my knowledge, (a poor old man). By the time that the baby was born, I was in housing, had the apartment fully furnished, and all the clothes that I needed for the baby, most of the stuff was others peoples trash, the couches, TV and crib and kitchen table, etc; but I believe God provided it all for me.

I'm glad that you believe that God did that for you. If you have faith, great!
The thing is that I see things like that happen to lots of people, with lots of different faiths. Sometimes it happens to people with no faith.
Please believe. Please learn about your God. Please strengthen your faith. Mostly though, don't let your faith bring you to the point where you call others wrong for their beliefs if they are different from yours.
I'm not a Christian, but I've had as many miracles in my own life. I have friends experiencing them every day; some Christian, some not. On the other hand, I was just at a funeral for a friend who was a Christian and a mother of a young daughter. She had lost a son some years ago, and she finally died abusing drugs and alcohol.
I think faith is important. I hope and pray you keep yours and grow. I hope that you can have that hope for others, even if they are different than you.
Blessings,
--Dee

I can only give an opinion. :) Since I call the force behind all existence, God or Energy, or even Higher Intelligence. Here is what I've come up with, no one needs to agree either: 1. It's Fun. :) (That's number one. :) ) 2. I get to learn and discover a whole lot from it. 3. I get to delve into the mysteries of the Universe and explore. 4. I get to develop and evolve and learn how to become better at being a human being as well. 5. I find the more I search for the mysteries of God the more I actually learn about everything around me in the process. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this higher intelligence weren't UFOs in some respect. I've done a lot of research in this area, speaking for myself. My conclusion, Life exists, and it will have an independent meaning for each individual, which is in itself a gift really. I won't always agree with everyone but it is their right to form their own beliefs as long as they're not forced onto others but merely discussed in a mature fashion. So my guess would be that Life is the Gift of God. :) That is why God exists.

The Creator --- Wakan Tanka Did Provide For YOU!!! Hears WHY!!!
Each morning upon rising, and each evening before sleeping, gives thanks for the life within you and for all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).
2. Respect. Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.
3. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.
4. Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.
5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.
6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all; the honor of one is the honor of all.
7. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.
8. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.
9. To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget you’re most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.
10. Observe moderation and balance in all things.
11. Know those things that lead to your well-being and those things that lead to your destruction.
12. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends.
Wahoo!!!

If any of this story is true, then that is sad and I'm sorry. But none of your sudden change in fortune has anything to do with a god.
And what does the old man at the restaurant have to do with your housing, etc. Did he help you out? I don't understand where he fits into all this.

I would stop thanking God and start thanking those people. Give credit where credit is due or youll end up with second hand junk, praying at church instead of with people you know care about you. God would want you to be thankful for him, but I believe that thanking those people would do that just as well, if it was some godly thing that drove them to be gracious.

you can see this world that we are living in, with no doubt. You are also sure that humans dont have any creationary power, meaning we cannot make something out of nothing~ (we dont have the ability to do so)
if humans didnt make this world, then surely there is someTHING made it~
we humans, only happened to name this thing with creationary power "God". God is only this thing's NAME~
you might well ask: i think that the world is made by aliens, only we cant find them yet~!!
well, you have only changed the name of this thing with creationary power into "aliens".
whatever you call this thing, as long as you are sure that this thing has creationary power, then its fine
(we humans wanna unite things, so, all of mankind call this thing God~)
so yes, i DO believe that God is here~~

I'm very glad that your situation turned out so happily.
Know what though? Even if I believe that I got a job because the Tooth Fairy likes me, that doesn't make it true or the Tooth Fairy real. What you wrote isn't proof to anyone but you (but if it works for you, I'm glad you're happy!)
