I am not looking for critical answers here, I just want to know which would hurt your feelings more.
If your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse cheated on you because they loved the person they were cheating on you with.
OR
If your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse cheated on you for sex, they didn't love the person that they were cheating on you with.
Remember, I only want to hear answers based off of the either/or not, "I would be pissed once I found out they cheated period"

I could eventually get over it, I think, if it was just a sex thing, though I would feel betrayed and hurt. But if it were a love thing, well that kind of slams the door on your own relationship with that person, now doesn't it? I know some people say a person can love more than one person at a time, but I don't buy that. If you love someone, you would not do the one thing that you knew would break their heart and kill their trust in you - giving your love to another person. Having been on the "it was just sex" side of the issue, I stayed for another 10 years - until he died. But if he'd told me he was in love with another woman, I'd have walked.

prettty: Being a male, I would be really hurt if my gal went out of the relationship to get love from another guy ! Why? Because this action on her part would make a hugh statement for me ! I would then, question myself and doubt myself, in the process. If she was on the prowl and had sex with another guy, I would be both, hurt and very dismayed. I would question HER ... not myself on this action. My trust will of had been violated and to trust her again, would be a real problem with me. Hope these answers do your question justice.

It would obviously hurt me a hell of a lot more if my boyfriend cheated on me because he loved the woman he was cheating on me with. If he cheated on me for just for sex then I will not be hurt and end the relationship. Instead, I will be pissed and withhold sex from him for a month. :-)

Being I h ave lived through this type of situation and my Boyfriend slept with someone just for sex while he was away, it hurts very deeply. But i think no matter if it was for sex or love it would still hurt equally.

For me, I think it would hurt more if they cheated on me just to have sexual intercourse with someone else. I chose that because it only shows you that you're not good in bed.
It will also hurt if they cheated on me because they love someone else now but I can accept that. They just have to tell me the reasons if there are any.

If they were cheating on me for love, that would crush me in. I can't imagine someone that would do that. I mean, maybe your sex isn't that great so you might slightly understand.. but doing it because they love the person? That would crush me.

Cheating for LOVE would be worse because it would mean they love another HOWEVER it would also reveal the TRUTH because I would always be SECOND thus THE END of the relationship.

i would have to say sex, because if they loved the person, at least they had feelings for him or her and it meant something, rather than just sex, that would be just to fullfill primal urges and obviously a good self esteem downer. i would rather my wife cheet with someone cause she was madly in love with the dude, instead of her just being in heat.
