I am in a job where I have to be on my feet for 12.5 hours + a day. The good insoles work for a while and then the pain gets worse. I have to wear a certain kind of work boot, that goes with the uniform.

I have it. It's very painful if not treated.
Treatment for me means wearing the right shoes.
I did not have surgery, mine is from calcified tissue.

Very rarely does it bother me now because I wear timberland clogs that have good arch support and is well-cushioned on the heels (about 1 1/2 inches off the floor).

I can never wear flats anymore.

I am a nurse and have suffered from plantar pain for a couple of years. The docs just say take anti-inflammatories and analgesics for the pain, but I know this was just masking the symptoms.

Anyway, I got this guide and a couple of days of following it my pain is completely gone. And I know it's really gone cause I'm not on any meds so if there was any pain left I'd know it.

Get rid of your plantar fasciitis & foot pain?

Surgery is not necessary. Try these simple remedies: Fill a plastic bottle full of water and freeze it. At the end of the day, roll the frozen bottle under your feet. This will help to get rid of some of the inflammation. You also need to stretch the plantar fascia by bending your toes and the bottom of your foot upwards.

If this is something that persists, you could get cortisone shots in the foot. When the pain resolves, you need to go to a chiropractor or podiatrist to get fitted for orthotic inserts for your shoes.

I had it and am not bothered with it anymore. I wear good shoes, my doctor said to never go barefoot. There is a brand of shoes made by Birkenstock that is every bit as good as the Birkies called Betaluna. My doc also gave me some exercises to do that really helped.

I had it before. I did a lot of foot exercises and that helped. Now I try to do foot exercises frequently. I didn't have surgery, but it hurt a lot.

My mom has/had it, I think they did surgery and now she is fine, either that or it went away. You'll be fine very soon, surgery or not!

You can try antiinflammatory meds and physiotherapy first. Surgery should be the real last resort.
