LimeWire is considered as mainstream p2p software. new versions require u to pay them (pro version). So,it's ok for me to say that they're safe, as they are being publicly recognised. Beware of programe files (.exe), where viruses usually sized less than 1MB. Or u can watch the other users rating @ comments on the file by highlighting (mouse cursor pointing at it). Also u can filter out some contents (adult,etc...) from it's preference options. 'Junk' files that are marked with a rubbish bin icon is a bad/unusable file that were rated by other users. But, be aware..Just have ur reliable antivirus running at all cost.

no limewire is NOT absolutely safe as someone mentioned. be advised. be careful. be aware that porn, wherever it comes from is suspect. that's where lots of jerks load in viruses.
on limewire, go down to advanced and click bitzi. bitzi reads the file and can tell if it's what it says it is or not. ALWAYS check the bitzi. this does not ensure no virus but it does weed out the blatant virus files. as someone else mentioned, before you open any of the files you've downloaded scan your shared folder where these are stored. simple precautions, i never get bugs.
oh, btw any files in the 700kb to 800kb range are viruses.

reliable as in safe i doubt it use at your own risk because these are random files people put on there they could have a virus with or without the person that sent em to there knowing and i read a story on the Internet i forgot the website that lime wire was taken to court and there are no copyright infringement laws and that whatever u download from there u cant get in any trouble for
but if you download a file from lime wire use www.lavasoft.com software to scan our PC for errors this software is the best there is and its free and i is not attached to any spire ware ad ware or Malware i hope this helps

I have to tell the truth i have an illegal downloading song site, but a few days later I got a virus and porn photos come up on my computer. So now my computer has a virus till i get a new one. I also agree with you about the it is not fair to the artists. But what if you only liked one of there songs and all the others where bull crap. So you could download that one song and put it one your ipod. Are for some poeple all their fave artists cd are too high for them and they can not aford it at the moment. Like Chris Brown i would so get his cd(which i already got) and put the songs on my ipod. But snoop dog i would not want his cd so i would just put dat one song on there. I wish i would have knowen that it caused heavy virues.

I use limewire to download music and it's really good. You just need to be careful of what you download because some people are jerks and try to spread viruses.

they are reliable, but when peope put a file on it they can attach viruses. Unless you have a very good firewall, chances are at least one will slip thru.
