my hair is about 3 or 4 inches long, maybe a little longer.. how do i spike it so it will stay up?

I have short hair in the back and a little bit longer in the front. I spray gel on the back of my hair and then run my fingers through it while i'm blow drying it. Then I use a hair paste and stick it up.

Use some axle grease.
