Registered Nurse here; Most states have Mental Health clinics, funded by the government, at no charge to a person who cannot afford to pay anything. I don't know what state you live in, but I'm from Texas, and most every county here in Texas has a mental health clinic. You might start with calling your closest department of health and human services. Call the food stamp office, they have a list of all government funded programs. I admire your courage and strength for admitting you have a BpD, a plus, big plus in your favor. Try the places I suggested, you should be able to reach some help this way. Thanks for the opportunity to address such a sensitive question.

I have been diagnosed with BpD myself and I know the importance of treatment. I don't know where you live, but my first question would be have you checked with your county mental health department? They usually provide care on a sliding scale based on income or free if you have no income. Another thing you might research on-line is clinical research studies. If you are accepted for a study, treatment is usually free of charge. In the meantime, do you have any family or friends that you can talk to, that can give you support? A good resource for me has been www.bpdworld.org They have a wealth of information as well as forums and chat rooms. I was amazed at the number of people I met there, it makes you realize that you are not alone. I hope this helps, I know your situation can't be easy.
Best wishes,
Liz

Your local mental health clinics are the best bet. I also have been diagnosed with BPD. You have to montior your behavior very carefully. Sadly, there is no cure and the disease tends to ebb & flow. Keep healthy, good people around you...no drama freaks or hard luck losers. Try not to drink too much and use any/a lot of drugs, as this will aggravate the condition.

I love Strawberry Pony's response..and I was wondering, is it possible for you to even spend a few $$ and buy some used books off of a place like eBay, or even rent from your library? Learning about it can help...
Also, check the web for local support groups that address yours or even a similar conditon.

i have no money for treatment, but where i live (Arizona) , they pay for it if it is persistent, severe, and you will deteriorate without it. call your local hospital and ask to speak with a social worker. if anyone can point you in the right direction, they can. or call any mental health hotline in your phone book. they can too.

Call my friend Olivia who will pray for you to heal or to get the right help. She has helped all my friends, and also cured a woman of multiple personalities caused by spiritual sickness.
I don't know how your prayer will be answered, but it will help!
Olivia's number is posted on my website at
http://www.houstonprogressive.org/nothanku.html
She does not charge any money but just prays with whoever calls her as sent by God. Every person she has prayed with has been helped in some way, or completely cured and changed.
