First of all, Thank you for serving our country.

The decision to tell her is up to you. If it was me, I would be undecided because
1. Would want to prepare food and clean the house for you (so I would want to know).
2. Surprise me and I would be delighted and excited. If I knew you were on your way home, I would be so worried that you got home safe, I would be beside myself.

Sorry, this is up to you. I gave you options here, consider them and decide for yourself. My grandson is coming home at Christmas from Iraq but just for the holidays.
Since your Dad knows, though, he will make sure that everything is in order. SURPRISE HER.
God Bless You.

Suprising her would be a nice Xmas present-but for the sake of easing her worry, let her know you're coming home. As far as what to do for fun-that depends on where you're at?

Let your mom know. Nothing with lighten her heart more than knowing you are going to be home for Christmas. I know you want to surprise her, but knowing you are coming is a much better gift for her.
