Christmas isn't a holiday to me. I donate time and money to charities year round. The less fortunate don't suddenly have needs at holiday time that they don't have the rest of the year. Consider doing something ongoing, rather than only once a year.
Why do I do it? It makes me feel good! I'm not rich by a long shot, but nothing makes me feel wealthier than the ability to help someone else.

I already have and plan to do more. My feeling is that what goes around comes around. Pay it forward.
I was once homeless, literally living in my car with my two cats, and now live in a million dollar house. It took 20 years to get here, but today I took some gift certificates for Target, grocery stores and Barnes & Noble to an organization that helps women in the same situation I was in. I'm not bragging, just giving ideas on how a small amount of money can help.
You never know when you might be one of those people. I surely didn't expect it to happen to me.
I also have an "unexpected income" fund. For the time between Thanksgiving and New Years, I am keeping track of surprise money. Quarters found on the street, a refund larger than I anticipated, a coupon for 20% off something I needed. And when the time is over I will tally it up and give a set percentage to Heifer Intl. toward the purchase of some livestock for people who have even less than a roof over their heads. Some of them right in our United States.
Time is something almost everyone can afford to give though, so if you don't have the cash, give 5 minutes of your time. Even just to help a stranger.

Yes i would donate my time and money for a Christmas charity. Because it is a good cause because all the money is going to all the homeless children.Remember their are kid's all over this world that can't afford christmas .Their in poverty and they need help. And yes i would do the following year too. I love helping people in need. I used to be there at one point in time in my life and people i didn't know helped me out just the same.

I give to charities all year long, but I still always throw something in the red kettle every time I pass one. I may not have much, but I know that there are people out there with even less and I do what I can to help.
Giving is my way of life, so yes I will be doing it in the years to come.

Yes I do and I will if I can in the following years. Why? Because I feel good when I can help people who are less fortunate than I. Not everyone is a "helper", but I am so inclined. Some people give and some people take. The happy medium, of course, would be to give and take on an equal basis. This is most rare in the human species, I find. I believe in "What goes around, comes around", to coin a phrase.

All year my students and I raise money to buy toys for a local charity called Operation Toybox. We also have a canned food drive to help fill the local food bank. I take food once a month to my church which also goes to a local food bank. My church also gathers gloves, hats, and scarves to take to a local elementary school to go to kids who don't have them. When school is starting we have a school supply drive so all kids can have new stuff to start school with. I do it every year and will try to do more.

I always make it a point to put something in the Salvation Army collection every time I go by one. Sometimes it's coins, sometimes paper.

Yes...both time and money. I'm a believer in the people who are fortunate to be "haves" to help out the "have nots".
