the bible says to walk boldly into the throne room.
we often spend our prayer time with our wants, God do this and God do that, but God want to communicate with you and asking questions is a part of communicating.
I often ask God question, and yes I do get answers.
if you do not ask then he won't answer, he is waiting for you, he loves you and want to talk to you, but an another part of communicating is listening, please do not forget to listen.
it is amazing when you hear God voice.

It is OK to ask God questions, like 'why did this happen?'
But perhaps you phrased your question wrong. The way I am understand it is in a negative way, like when you 'question' your parents. They tell you to do something because they know what is best for you, since they have already been through it.
I don't believe that anybody should 'question' God, (like question His existence, or 'question' Him, thinking that He is wrong.)
God is 100% absolutely right about EVERYTHING He does. He is infalliable. He knows everything about everything. Never think that you are smarter than God about something, and NEVER think that God is wrong.
He does love you no matter what you do, and He did create every person with a free will to choose. But He will not let you 'get away with it.' There will be consequences for your sins in this life, and one day you will have to stand before Him and give an account of why you questioned Him, and did what you did.

There is a God for all of you who don't think there is. that God loves all of you even his enemies. so, just because you don't believe in God don't tell other people that there is no God if they believe there is. Yes you can question God. But understand that all things that happen in life are in God's plan and that you're part of that plan. If someone that you love dies; that is part of God's plan so don't blame him. Even though it may seem like his fault. It's a test. Remember to love God!!
God Bless everyone!

Yes he does love you enough to let you get away with it and much more!
If you read the bible, especially in the Old Testament, you will see that not only did Abraham & Moses ( and others) question God but argued with him and tried to get him to change his mind. Sometimes, it worked to a degree. it is said from Moses & Abrahams arguments with God is where Judaism got its long held tradition of arguing with and questioning God on matters.
Even Jesus questioned his Father (Eli Eli Lama Sabacthani) Father, father why have you forsaken me! And of course he regularly interceded on sinners behalf, for that was his very function

Remember Abraham. When Jesus Christ along with the two angels came to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah did not he question God many times. God listened to Abraham and because of this Lot and his daughters were saved.
I think it is safe to say yes you can. God does not want yes people around Him. He gave us a brain, and although its not being used to its max, He wants you to use it.><>

Of course you can question God. You are a thinking human being right? Now to try and impose your will over God's is a different story.

Just as God will listen to your confessions and prayers, I have no doubt that he will listen to your questions, even if you are questioning him. God does not judge you for what you did, he will judge you for what you can become. Not only is god all forgiving, I would hope that he has a sense of humor too.

So when you say question god does that mean you are questioning the religious doctrine?
I truly feel that the world would be a better place if people would consider it a civil duty to question their beliefs/religious leaders.

No it isn't ok to question God--he does love you though. If you're doing something that you think you're getting away with, you're not. God sees everything that you do. If you're doing something that you may think is questionable you need to ask God for forgiveness.

I actually TEACH my son to question things. I think he will be wiser for it and why else did God give us the ability to think for ourselves?
We have a mixed family...we have Baptist married to Jewish and Methodist, and more, but we also have an proclaimed Athiest.
You can imagine some of the fun conversations we have at get togethers !!
