Ok I got the ending where the character "Agent Sophie Neveu" turns out to be the Holy Grail, but then at the very end of the movie, Dr. Robert Langdon really finds out where the Holy Grail is, "beneath the museum". So the ending where Sophie was the Holy Grail, is what - a joke - a farce - a smokescreen? And all those guardians protecting a false Holy Grail? And we've got Museum cops, making minimum wage guarding the real Holy Grail...........Oh great :o(, that's certainly a satisfying ending. Forgive me, I didn't read the book. Does the book end the same way?

I stand correctly, Agent Sophie Neveu, is decendent of the bloodline. Ok so the "Location" of the Holy Grail, was what MOVED to the museum, or was that the original location, and the other place was what - the smokescreen location?

The ending:: the riddle was a double-meaning code. First, the purpose was to help Sophie find her REAL family- and to be protected by the Priory in that CHurch.(Rosslyn in the Church). That Church (maybe) was falsely the hidden place of the Grail. Then Robert returned to France. Then, Robert, in his room, he remembered that he said Sophie that Rosslyn is the ancient spelling of Roslin- as the riddle told so. Then he remembered about his book, the Sacred Feminine, that ROSE LINE was the other spelling of Roslin, so he followed the Roseline until the museum, the Louvre, as he looked up he saw the starry skies mentioned in riddle. So he knew it was it and he kneeled before the REAL LOCATION OF THE GRAIL!

I had the Da Vinci code movie on DVD monthes ago (ssshhhh!) and i personally think it was a very good movie (never read the book) I've watched it like 10 timed to try to understand it better.. It really gets you thinking about the way people glorify Jesus as if he wasn't just a real man who did great things. He didn't start doing the jesus thing until his late late 20's, and the bible never really spoke of his life before then ya know. He was just a human being why is it so hard for people to believe (or accept) the fact that he may have fallen in love, had a wife and a child at some point? Plus if you look into the background of Da Vinci he did like to paint his paintings with backwords hidden mystery, maybe he was trying to tell a story no one else wanted to believe in those days knowing one day the truth would be known!! If you enjoyed the book then i would definatley have to say rent the movie, it's interesting, and educational!

the ending to the movie was hinted at throughout the movie about the bloodline of Jesus and how the bloodline had been secretly protected through the ages if the story of Jesus and Mary Magdalene is true. they were trying to get the message across that Mary Magdalene was the "holy grail or the holy cup of Christ"
that woman that was on the quest with him supposedly was a descendant of the bloodline of Jesus. she was the only bloodline left.
In real life there are people that believe that Princess Diana and her family are/was the lineage of Jesus and that is part of the conspiracy behind her death. there are other rumors that Prince Charles is in that lineage too. great stuff.....but not mentioned in the movie.........just hinted at.

Edit: the museum was just the beginning of the clues and the house they wound up at the end was the hiding place at that time
hidden by the knights templar. a lot of stuff in that movie is based on theories and the role of the knights templar and the holy grail has never been proven. the evidence is always disputed.
the mystery of the holy grail according to these theories is that the "cup" of christ is the womb of Mary and the movie placed the importance of that on the idea that a bloodline still existed and might just be the next womb of the messiah in the second coming of Christ......you see

The book says that Mary Magdalene is the Holy Grail. The picture supposedly of the last supper has Mary at Jesus right side.I`ve seen documentaries where all this is said to be un true.It does look like a woman sitting beside Jesus, but John who is supposed to be the one sitting there was claimed to be young and beautiful even though he was a man.He is the Diciple that Jesus gave his mother to and said this is your mother and told John to take care of her.Da Vinci was a weird man and could very easily painted this as well as other paintings with a little disception. There were twelve Diciples, all were at the table count them,Are there thirteen people sitting there?I believe the Holy Grail is the cup that Jesus drank from,He told his Diciples to drink, for this was his blood that was shed for man.If the cup is missing ,as some say on the table, then it was left out for a reason by the painter.
