Depends on what you feel that you are solid enough in your techniques, whether it's forms or sparring (those're the two that're the most prevalent events that competitions usually feature).

If you feel that your techniques are pretty good in whichever events they have, then sign up for them.

i actually disagree with the above answer completely, with no disrespect intended towards the martial artist who answered.

the true value in competitions doesnt lie in winning but expanding your comfort zone. a trophy doesnt make you a better martial artist. but testing yourself beyond what you may feel comortable with does.

that said, i would choose the event(s) that i feel most uncomfortable competing in. wheather it's because of the sheer number of people watching, or the fear of being hurt, or the fear of losing.

i would choose the event that i'm most unsure about and do my utmost to leave every single thing i have in me on that competition mat.

THAT increases my skill. THAT expands my comfort zone. i'd rather compete in something i know would test me the most that something that would test me the least anyday.

regardless, hope you do (did) well, whatever you chose!
