this guy and i became friends because he asked my friend to homecoming and she said no so i started talking to him and then i started liking him we went to a dance and danced all night and he liked me back and told my friends he was going to ask me out however my friends bugged him and then he said he didn't like me anymore because i talked to him to much i only talked to him in the morings and sometimes at lunch is still like him and want to see if we can still go out and ask out myself since he hasn't i wanted to go out to lunch on a minimum day and talk to him then ask him out but idk if he still likes me should i ?

Just do it, there's obviously something strange going on, the only way you can find out if he wants to take the relationship any farther is by asking, just talk to him, don't let him shrug a good conversation off.
