It is not bad, it is a process.
I am naturally blonde. When I darken from home not at a solon, I use red tint from clairol, You have to have red as a base, other wise the brown will pull out green pigments.
Then you need to gradually go dark, if you want to go dark brown, don't do it first.
Go light brown and then 6 weeks later go dark brown.
If you don't feel like messing with it go to a salon.
It wont ruin your hair, just dont die it after the second initial use, for another 12 weeks.

I'm the manager of a hair salon and I say no but depending upon how light it is and how dark you want to go you may need to "fill it" by coloring it with a warm red type of shade before putting dark on it for the most natural results. This also helps to ensure that your hair will not take on too much of the underlying pigment of the dark color ex: green or blue tint.

Have low lights put in. That will make it darker a little at a time. All at once could be shocking to you and you won't like it. Take it slow. Also, John Frieda has those glazes you can wash in over a weeks time and it's supposed to work with your natural color. And if you don't like it just stop.

It's less damaging then trying to bleach dark hair lighter but once you go dark, it will be really hard to go back to blonde. If you try and bleach it at home, it can be extremely damaging. You would most likely have to go to a salon and get the darker color stripped from your hair professionally. It's always easier and less damaging to go dark then to go light.
So, no, dying your hair dark is not necessarily too bad for it-- as long as you don't expect to be blonde again anytime soon!

No not any worse than dying any color hair. It might be a little dry at first, but thats the same for anyone, with any color hair, that decided to dye it.

Bleach is extra harsh on your hair than hair colour on my own is. neither is sweet on your hair, yet neither is blow drying it customary and making use of the nice and cozy iron or curling iron, yet we do it besides.. so i could say circulate back on your organic easy brown colour and do in simple terms a little highlights, which you dont ought to shop up with such as you do throughout colour. :) desire my suggestion is efficient
