Absolutely. Satan has to ask, and God will grant it with parameters. You might check in the book of Job as it is where Satan CLEARLY asks for permission before he completely destroys everything around Job, but leaves him with his life per God's orders.

Well very good question! If you study the Bible like I do you will find that there is a war in heaven. Lucifer was cast out of heaven for a sinful thought that entered his mind. This sinful thought was and is PRIDE I can take over up here and run things. So when he thought this in his own mind Jah Psalms 68:4 knew it and threw him out then the war began. You see satan got jealous of Adam the first human this is what finally caused the I I I me me me thoughts in lucifer because when the Almighty God created man for fellowship with Him God didn't spend as much time with His Angels He Loved Adam and walked with him in the Gaden in the cool of the day Check Genesis. And the question that Lucifer wouldn't have entered heaven, He was created up there before man was created down here. And this is the great deception satan has power next to God's. Angels are more power full than humans, lager, smarter, greater warroirs than humans ever thought about this is why the Almighty God created them first and this is why when Christians are in trouble their gaurdian angel comes to their rescue, We must stay repentive of our sins so our Angels will help us too Eph 5-6, I pray this answers your questions I am tired going to bed Have a Blessed day and I pray all are saved John 14:6; 2 Peter 3:9 Acts 16:31 Plus the book of Job the oldest book in the Bible

Not all people accept Satan as literal and real, even when they beleive in God and heaven. But yes there is scripture to support that belief and it is widely held, especially among evangelical Christians and more fundamentalist believer. Jesus taught again the apostles taught that one can rebuke Satan in Jesus' name and he will and must depart from. A simple real rebuke sffices, no one need to pray the demons out..
Jesus said get thee behind me Satan and he departed from him and many others, the disciples taught that we could all invoke this power through Jesus.
I, personally hold a different view of Satan, but as a minister, I would never criticize any one elses views on belief (unless they teach hatred and intolerence).
In Summary
It is a fundamental and generally accepted belief that has scripture to support it, and none that does not We usually call that a biblical truth.

Not quite that easy. God gives mankind Freewill to make decisions whether to obey Him or not.
Our Obedience or lack thereof determines the measure in which we find ourselves under Gods covering of protection from him who seeks to destroy us.
God does not so much allow Satan to manipulate us as He allows us the choice whether or not to be manipulated. Therefore when we have had enough God is always there to welcome us back home.
If you read the Book of Job you will find that Satan did ask God permission to test Job and God agreed with the stipulation that he could not take Jobs life. Showing Gods ultimate control over the whole situation.
The fact that God is able to use Satan as a tool of discipline shows not only Gods Power but Satans stupidity.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Hi REB. When you say Satan can't 'touch' us, without God's permission, I assume you mean harm or hurt us. In the book of Job, we read about a conversation between God and Satan over a man named Job. God tells satan that Job is a perfect and upright man. Satan replies that Job is an upright man because God has protected and blessed Job by giving him much wealth, this is the reason that he is perfect.
God then allows Satan to take all of what Job his goods, servants, and family, and to inflict Job's body with sore boils. Through all of these trials, Job remains faithful to God. This was an actual historical event, but we must also remember that the Bible was written in parables. As we read about Job and what he went through, we begin to see that he is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Heaven, Jesus had Power, Glory, and Honor. On earth Job had everything that he needed, but both lose this status temporarily. Christ who gives up His Glory so he can pay for the sins of those whom He came to Save, and Job who is used here by God as a picture here to show us what Christ gave up.
Satan is an evil spirit and cannot harm us. He can cause wicked people who are under his control to harm us.God teaches us we are not to fear he who kill the body but fear Him who can kill the soul. In Matthew 10:28 we read:
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
As believers we are not to fear any spirits. The fear of the true believer is we fear God, we fear doing evil in his eyes. We are happiest when we are doing the will of God.

I don't know where you've heard this, but this is false. Satan is prince of this world! Satan has touched priests, popes, and holy men and women throughout the centuries. Having original sins in our souls makes us vulnerable to Satan and his minions. Only by our grace that was given by God and by our charisms given at Confirmation may we hope to reject the evil one. Remember, Satan even tempted God Himself when Jesus fled to the desert after His baptism!

Read the Gospels and you can see that there were many individuals who were possessed! These possession come from satan and his forces!
They didn't need any permission from God. Jesus casted out several of these demons from many folks.

Anyone can open themselves up to Satan when they sin. You can tell Satan to leave you alone and ask God to protect you from Satan's temptations and He will. That's what free will is all about.
