The birth of Christ for the birth of their Sun God. Not my favorite, because I don't have a favorite. I don't celebrate the holidays so I haven't stolen anything.

Pagans stealing Christmas? It became any incorrect way around. They knew that the had no probability in the international arising with their own traditions so as that they had to borrow and scouse borrow those that they must on the present time. The evergreen, yuletide log, ivy, mistletoe, and multiple different PAGAN traditions have pagan roots no longer christian. As for the "actual meaning of Christmas" what precisely is that? The start of Christ? No it relatively is fake additionally. If Christ became born he became born in the springtime no longer wintry climate. As a Pagan I have not any qualms approximately sharing my holiday trips yet what i could particularly like is for human beings to realize that they are my holiday trips additionally.

We didn't steal them, we lowered our standards to make it where pagans who were required to convert to Christianity by the Roman government could be content with the changes because they then got to continue to celebrate their pagan festivals. It's called tolerance and it's NOT acceptable. It's sad that the Christians felt then that they had to do things to make their religion seem friendly (even though it was at the end of a sword!) so that people would WANT to be Christians. Sounds an awful lot like Christian Churches today that want to make the worship service more hip and cool so that so-called "seekers" would like it and want to come back. Sad!

Christmas is NOT a Christian holiday but a holiday celebrated by many Christians. Don't you think that if Jesus wanted us to make a big deal over His birthday, He would have told us when it was and made suggestions as to how to celebrate it? I know I just ticked off a lot of Christians, but I do ask that you look take it into consideration. If it still makes you ticked, you can add your name to my family list-they don't agree with me either. Oh well, now I am through with my ranting and raving. Oh, by the way, Easter is the same thing. I do think that the resurrection is something that needs to be celebrated EVERY day of the year not just one single day. Now, I am really done.

Yule log... they probably don't even understand what it is.
Mistletoe... a shame that something that was once considered sacred to Druids, is now used as an excuse to get a cheap thrill. *wink*
The tree... though with the decorations they have today, I am not too upset over the loss. They can keep the tree.
The Wassail Bowl... another they have no idea what it is (Here we come a Wassailing....) *spelling*
And one of my favorite songs that was originally an old Irish tune for Yule... Deck the Halls... the fa la la la laa part was once words that went with the rest of the song.
