I often get sick but rarely get high fever. So, my philosophy is if you feel sick you are sick.

Average human temperature is 98.6 degrees F. This is based on basal metabolic rate and caloric intake and burn-off. It is not true that anything over the average is a fever. Some people are a degree or so above or below. Only a temperature above 100 degrees F is worthy of medical attention. Of course, if the body temperature is much below that, the person is probably already getting medical attention for hypothermia or is on a slab in a coroner's office. I hope this helps.

You need to think about where you are when you typically go to the doctor. Where is your temperature?

My temperature is usually 97.9. If my temperature is 96.9, my doctor asks me if I just drank something. Then they retake my temperature a few minutes later to be sure. If I am above 99, I am getting really sick! I know that I am feverish.

As a general rule, think 1 degree below and 1 degree above. Once the temperature gets above 100, you are sick. Dangerzones are above 103. At that point you should be looking to take luke warm/cool baths to sponge off to lower the temperature.

Be careful. If you think you are getting sick, go to the doctor!

I honestly don't know about low temp. but doctors have always told me that it's not really considered running a temp. until it reaches 100. personally, I don't believe that! if my temp. is around or above 98.6 , I know I'm sick. my temp usually runs about 98.2, and that is normal for me.

i think 96 or 100 would be considered "sick"
if the temp gets any higher than 102, you should see the doctor.

you have to know your body. some people are hotter (me, 99.0) and some a bit lower. I dont look twice until i see 99.6. Low is hypothermia, not fever. and i don't know what that temp is on the low side.

I don't know about low temperatures, but most docs don't pay attention to high temps until they're 100.1 or greater.
