Start by studying for the written test and taking it. That will be a start. I suspect you are certainly intelligent enough to learn to drive.

Get the driving test book for the state where you live. Read it several times. There are some sample written tests on the internet. It wouldn't hurt to try taking some of them to help you ace the real thing. Then, when you are ready, take the written test. If you pass, you will be given a driving permit, so that you can drive with a liscensed driver in the passenger seat. After a certain ammount of time with experience behind the wheel (usually 6 months) you will be able to take the driving part of the test. If you pass that you can drive.
Remember, driving is not really about intelligence, it is about common sense and your reflex speed.

Yes. The question of intelligence is minimal. The real test is owning a car, insurance, maintenance and gas cost.
Eye sight is important, you need 20/40 in at least one eye.
Reactions speed is not important. I think if you respond to a number called outloud is the test.
The biggest problem is reading. It is important to know how to read. The little book about driving has to be read before taking the test. Even I have to read the book if I take the test. They keep changing the rules. One moment the book says this.. next year it is opposite and it is that. Read the book.

Well, take your permit test and driver's test, and if you pass those you are most likely intelligent enough. And driving isn't really about intelligence... I mean, you have to be a good driver and know how to work the car, and know the laws and stuff, but it's not like you're working out rocket science in the driver's seat. ;) I'm sure you're smart enough.

seeing that the legal driving age in most states is 16, I think you are old enough to drive. I'm not sure if maturity has anything to do with it. Take some driving classes and practice and you should be good enough to drive in no time!

Oh please, if you live in the USA, go to the State Motor Vehicle Administration and get the book about the driving laws, signs, etc. Some States may even have them on line. You first get a learner's permit and drive with someone who is licensed and can instruct you so you learn. You can even hire someone to teach you. They provide the car as well as the instruction. You take a written as well as a behind the wheel test. Just pay attention and keep your wits about you and you'll do just fine.

Do you know your left from your right? Can you identify a stop sign? Then you're intelligent enough. There are a lot of people drive who aren't that bright, but, can drive just fine. You won't know till you try.

Hmm.... Well, I think taking the drivers test is probably the best thing to use to determine if you are smart enough, so go ahead and try it. If this test is not good enough, well thats a sad day for this country.

I feel the same as you. I'm afraid I'll die or kill people if I have to drive.
