Jehovah's Witnesses expect that many thousands of the 144,000 have never set foot in a Kingdom Hall or read 'The Watchtower'.
The fact is that the vast majority of Witnesses hope to enjoy life ON EARTH forever, rather than in heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him
The men and women who make up the 144,000 are selected by God from among two thousand years of Christians. Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

You have half of the belief correct.
JW's believe 144,000 will be in heaven with Jesus to rule as kings and priests. Revelaton 7:4, Revelation 20:4-6 But you can't have a king or many kings without ones to rule over.
The other faithful ones will inherit the earth. The entire 37th chapter of Psalms speaks of that inheritance.
As for hell, JW's believe hell is the common grave. Which is where those who are judged "by GOD" to be unrighteous will be. . From dust you were and dust you will return. Genesis 3:19

You'll be happy to know that the Bible does NOT say that only 144,000 will go to heaven. That idea is based on a misunderstanding of scripture that is being disseminated by so-called Jehovah's Witnesses. The Bible says nothing of the kind! While reference is made to the 144,000 (an obviously privileged group) in the book of Revelation, nowhere does the Bible state that this group will be the only ones to make it to heaven. That is a manmade myth!
By the way, Mazell D: Jesus DID say to the thief who believed in Him, "TODAY, you shall be with me in Paradise." Perhaps the place He is preparing is the New Jerusalem, which will come down out of heaven from God after Christ's return, His thousand-year reign (the Millennium), and His destruction of the old earth and creation of the new one.
And now the question, "Gary," is: Will YOU be one of the ones who makes it? Or do you simply think that asking questions about the Bible is nothing more than a bit of good, old-fashioned fun?

THE HEAVENLY HEAD OF THE BODY
Rev.14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
Rev14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
Rev.14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
Rev.14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
Rev.14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
Rev.14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Rev.14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

The 144,000 you are referring to in Revelation will be sealed during Tribulation. God wants us all to be with Him in Heaven. There is room for all who chose to accept Him as their personnel Savior. Heaven is vast and so is Hell. The Jehovah Witnesses believe that the elders are the only ones that go to heaven, and no one else can go. They believe that they are already full up in Heaven. I have talked to many of them, and I don't understand why keep trying to get people in when they can't even go to heaven their selves. That is their beliefs. There will be more saved during the Tribulation.

The 144,000 is not "how many go to heaven" it is how many Jews are marked to become believers I think. After all the description of the city of paradise described in Revelations I think is 3,000 miles long, which is roughly the length of the US. To compare it, Israel is about the size of New Jersey, so lots of people will be saved.

The Watchtower Society (Jehovah Witnesses) are the only ones that believe 144,000 are saved. That's a load of tripe. The prophecy about 144,000 pertains to a group of Jews at a particular time in the Tribulation period.

There is no one in Heaven yet. According to the New Testament, Jesus is preparing Heaven now. When he comes back, only then will the judged go to their destinations.
Maybe you're speaking of the 144,000 Jews that will convert and believe in Jesus.
This is one of the reasons why I don't understand why people think that folks can "die and go to Heaven" or when people say, "He's in a better place."
I guess it's comforting to think that someone you loved has gone to Heaven.

The 144,000 is the Jews that will lead people to Christ during the tribulation, not how many are going to Heaven. Millions of people are going to Heaven. All you have to do is confess you are a sinner, Believe that he rose from the dead, and accept him as your personal Savior. Hell is big enough to hold the rest.

J.W. are the only ones who say that. It really is funny because in all the years the JW have been together there would have to be even more than 144,000 already so what are all the present JW going to do.
