This is your day to shine. Be ready to walk down the aisle with your royal train. I envy and applaud you. You will look just absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your day I guarantee people will be talking like no tomorrow. They will be saying "wow did you see that train just like princes Diana". So have fun and be you, you lucky girl. God Bless.

I guess you and I are in the same boat. I have ordered my dress too. I wanted a royal train, instead I only had two feet added to my cathedral train. Sometimes I wish I would have added more but then I remind myself that I have to wear the dress almost all day and it will be very heavy. You may want to see if your seamstress can make the train removeable. My purpose of the long train was for the walk down the aisle. I will be dancing and don't want the train in the way.

You only get married once, lol. If you are having a full dance reception, you may find the train gets in the way and is really heavy. Making it removable is one option of course - but there are other options. You could ask them to put a bustle in, which basically allows you to tuck the train up into the skirt so it isn't in the way while you dance. You could so have a local seamstress to it for you - it is just a matter of adding buttons and loops to the inner skirt under the dress - then you could wait till you get it, and try it on, dance around alittle and see if you think you will want a bustle or not:)

No, if you want a long train and you can afford it, then you can have it. Do not worry about what other people say, they are not wearing the dress. You can always pin it up, there are usually some hooks on the dress that will hook the train so that it won't drag during the reception. Congratulations!

I think the only reason people say that you should have got a removable train is because it's HEAVY when bustled. You might be uncomfortable during the reception dancing but you didn't make a mistake if that's what you like.

Does the train hook up? Will you be able to dance with your father in the dress? Will your little brother step on the train? Will you be walking outside in your dress?

Generally, a train is a bit of a pain, but it can be worked with.

Good luck!

I have had the same dream forever and my dress had a grand cathedral train (10 feet). People tell me the same thing, but I don't care, You're only getting married once (ideally) and it's your day, do what you want!!!!!

Are you having that formal of a wedding, to have that long of a train?

If so then that's what you have to consider. Not others' fashion/comfort choices, but whether your gown is the appropriate formality.

Make sure your bridal party learns how to bustle it right.

Carrying that train around all night long is going to be horrible...you should talk to your seemstress and figure out a way to make it easier for you to carry around. You have to remember that you're going to be walking around and mingling and dancing...you might not be able to make it through the night with something that heavy.
