My hair is shoulder length. Thanx for the input guys. I think I should tell you that straighteners only work for about an hour on my hair. I'm sick of ponytails. I got layers cut. It only looks good at the salon.

I haven't found a 100% perfect product or inexpensive but I have the same problem with my hair And by far the best I have found to straighten my hair was a product by Graham Webb called "Stick Straight" they make it in regular and extra strength.
Then I blow-dry straighten my hair with a large round brush.
I also Have a ION ceramic Flat Iron that does pretty good.
When I wear my hair curly I use a defusser/dryer to dry my hair, it reduces the frizzes and I get better curls.
But Its all bitter sweet....All Straightening Irons and Blow dryers are damaging to hair and contribute to our dilemma.

You should try a smoothing shampoo, like Vive Pro by Loreal. At your hair salon you should also ask about a smoothing oil called Biosilk. It works really good at smoothing frizzy hair, not only does it moisturize but it also smells really good.

what kind of straightner are you using? i had the same problem a few years ago and was using a cheap conair straightner. break down and buy an exensive one it will work. get a thin one 1/2 an inch or 1 inch. make sure you do it really slow the 1st time then go over the piece again. it works it just takes a lot of time. ask your stylist or if you have any more problems email me at gmangel12@yahoo.com

comb or pick it out but never ever brush it....
easiest thing to do is after your morning shower just comb it out in the shower ( while it's still wet ) don't forget to condition... just don't put too much or it'll get all heavy.... anyways pat dry with a towel... don't rub.... and put on some gel and pick it through your hair...if you got cash to spend use curls rock products...if not samy stuff is awesome...... im sure it looks wonderful all down.... if you want shiny curls use serum before you gel and spray and all that stuff.....
Every now and then flat ironing it straight (also use serum before and after) would look great.... just don't get addicted to straight hair or you'll burn it out!....investing in high quality iron results in straighter hair.... Super Star flat irons are the best, second best is CHI, third is RUSK...my list aleast
Also remember to keep trims atleast once a month!

I get mine cut fairly short and layered and put scrunch gel in it while it's wet. It looks like I have a perm. The gel helps control the frizzies. Let your natural curl work for you.

first you need a shampoo and conditioner that are exactly for your kind of hair needs....my hair is just like yours.......i used garnier fructis shampoo and conditioner,it has to say on the label that it's for frizzy, dry, unmaneagable hair, and it worked! try it for at least two weeks, they sell garnier fructis shampoo everywhere.....like at walmart or some store like that...
