I'd tell him my worst fear is spiders. Who cares if you are afraid of rejection? Some people are afraid of the dark.

If you want to know the truth, most guys fear rejection.
I think he told you this because he really likes you, and he is afraid you don't feel the same way. If you like him back, let him know, and good luck to you!

personally, if a guy told me he was afraid of rejection, i'd be a bit scared at first wondering what his last girlfriend did to him to make him that scared. then i'd accept it and move on and date him.
im afraid of rejection too, my boyfriend is as well, when he told me that i asked why and he told me his reasons. i promised i would never break up with him for those reasons and we've been dating since. he's a bit paranoid which is something i worried about but we're working on it.
i'd just tell the girl and tell her the reasons why that is your biggest fear. if she understands, go for it; if not, hunny she's not worth your time.

if your worst fear was rejection, avoid telling guys or girls that. confidence is the winning strategy, and even if you dont have it, dont act like you dont have it. most people want a strong guy, emotionally.
forget your fears, and just go with the flow.

you're able to easily tell him to return hangout with you and your pals ideally a occasion or a kick returned, enable him carry some pals that way he's not the only guy there (which could make it extremely ackward for him) plus it makes issues slightly extra social. on the different hand you're able to invite him to hangout in simple terms you and him...yet he would be thinking that the ball is in his courtroom.
