In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
Love and blessings

SATAN HAS GREAT WRATH BECAUSE HIS TIME IS SHORT
Rev.12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Acts 2:27-35; Matt.22:42-44; Heb.1:1-13; Rom.16:20; Jesus and apostles wait for Satan to be cast down underfoot. THEN A PLACE IS PREPARED FOR THEM TO BE WITH JESUS John 6:39,40,44; 14:3;

yes! Satan desires everlasting misery and death for us, so He sends his spirits to haunt us and tempt us. God desires Eternal Life and happiness with those we love in the kingdom of heaven and He sends the Holy Ghost to manifest the truth of the gospel unto His children. Satan has no body and never will, while God is flesh and bone (except for the Holy Ghost). God is kind and selfless, while Satan wants to lure you into sin so you can never be happy and you can be his servant forever. don't listen to Satan. listen to the Holy Ghost. Pray often to Father in the name of Christ with real intent and ask for the Holy Spirit to be with you, and you can avoid Satan. You're stronger than him! you can keep him out of your life by simply saying "no" to what Satan tempts you to do. Satan likes to disguise and make you think his whisperings are those of the Lord. They're NOT. Pray for the Holy Ghost to be with you and get the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands by those who are in athority to preach the gospel and administer the ordinances thereof, and Satan can get off your turf and out of your sight. and trust me, God brings peace, happiness, and joy. Satan brings guilt, sorrow, and misery. choose God. choose the right. I don't know any greater happiness than the happiness of knowing that what i'm doing is correct and pleasing in the sight of God, the creator of the universe. think about it. the answer to your question is YES!

That would mean that Satan is for peace, against killing children, doesn't demand blood sacrifices, believes in justice, is modest, not jealous, is not vengeful, etc. All those things that God is would be what Satan is not.
(and no I am not a Satanist)

God's first son the devil ; who would you give the credit to authors that didn't figure well enough or divine superstition that doesn't ever show up when called upon. How convenient and how silly.

Only if you believe so.
Religion is a personal choice of what you believe. I personally think the idea of a bad entity people can blame all their problems on is weak.
So my question for you is: Should I tell you what to believe in? Would you rather not decide for yourself?
