Why are so many people blind to the true Democratic plan for immigration?

They plan on giving illegals a fast track to citizenship so they will have a wider voter bloc in 2008 to help them get a president in office. The illegals, granted citizenship, will have the Democrats to thank and therefore vote for them. This is the only reason the Democrats want amnesty for the illegals. Why is it so many cannot see this?

Illegals need to be shipped home. We don't want them. They are taking jobs, keeping sweatshops in operation, living 23 deep in whatever trailer they can find and collecting our tax money for assisstance as well as driving up our medical costs for their "FREE" medical.

Before someone is allowed to become a citizen, they should prove that they are worthy. What are they doing here if they hate AMERICA. If you hate America, move to France and work at Target. You will fit right in. If you are a flag burner and can't stand everything that America stands for, you absolutely should not be here.

The Democrats are always trying to pad their voting base. This is why they claim to cater to minorities, when actually, it is the republicans who defend everything the minorities stand for (okay, except crime). It was the Republicans who abolished slavery. It is the Republicans who are color blind.

Get rid of the illegals and get rid of the drugs and America will be a better place. People applying for citizenship should not be allowed to bash our government. Non Citizens should not be able to vote for our laws or our leadership.

I am a little confounded by this because it was a Republican Congress and President that was in favor of this. It helps only the Democratic party.
I am not for this, at all, but I don't have a better answer except to send them back and that might be what should be done.

Over the past several years since hurricane Ivan hit Gulf Shores AL, we have noticed that the reconstruction is dominated by Mexican workers. These are not minimum wage jobs and should have been highly attractive to college students or anyone who lost their job because of Ivan - and there were a lot of people out of work. I didn't understand why there were not a majority of Americans building these condos. Have we become such wimps or too good for manual labor?

Immigrants come here, especially from Mexico, in hopes to find work. And they do. They are paid illegally. They are paid crap wages under the table, or even minimum wage under the table. And they take it, because even that is way better than what they make in Mexico. They are not STEALING jobs from Americans. National minimum wage is $5.15 and hour. US citizens don't work these jobs, because even if you were single with no family to raise, $5.15 an hour won't even pay the gas you need to get to and from work. It's a disgrace. So it's easy to get immigrants with nothing to do these jobs that are too cheap for anyone here to work for.

Quick way to slow down illegal immigration? Put some hefty fines in place for companies that hire illegal immigrants. Once immigrants realize they can't work here without a green card, then it'll slow way down. Oh, but wait a minute.. Lobbyists want the cheap labor for industry and are willing to line the RNC pockets with campaign contributions to get it. And Bush isn't going to impose fines on companies that support him. So, umm, wait, that means Bush is responsible.

The same reason why people cannot see that 40% of hispanics are underage for voting. And why, in spite of threats this year from the illegal supporter community, voter turnout in particularly the hispanic voting block stayed the same- in other words-low. Also, that different nationalitites of hispanics vote different issues. Primary concern among those of Mexican descent is immigration, but those from Colombia or Cuba for example are very conservative people, and vote on social issues. And they are often Republican. And if immigration is no longer a concern, who says the hispanic vote would stay with the Democrats. A large number of hispanics who voted in presidential elections voted for G.W. Why? Because Mexican-Americans also tend to be conservative on social issues too. You don't see to many pro-choice Mexican immigrants, do you?

Very good point. Did you know that the Dem's have already put forth a bill that would prohibit local law enforcement from detaining an illegal alien, and putting restrictions on the border patrol making it more difficult for them to stop, detain and deport an illegal.
A large number of people vote democrat for what the Dem's give them from the treasury. I can't think of any major legislation that a Dem has put forth that of a true benefit to the country as a whole.
