Technology has the potentail of being a double edged sword. Although it CAN prevent our extinction it will most probably be the cause of it's endangerment.
Ultimately it is not the technology per se that will be the end of us, it is our nature that paired with the facility of technology with become a force that will leave little room for regrets and hind sight will be 20/20.

About 100 years ago the mean expected lifetime was about 40 years. Now people lives normally 70 years. Something is improved thank to technology, maybe.If you imagine an asteroid collision, maybe technology could help. Mr. Fool Bomb could obviously destroy all but this would be only madness.

No.well technology is helpful when used properly for the mankind.Everything has advantages and disadvantages but comapared to the disadvantages the advantages are more when we talk about technology.And when technology is not used properly it may lead to our extinction because it is hindering earths natural processes.so we have to go for sustainable development

Maybe. There are some things it could save us from, and there are others where we would be helpless. But eventually, in a million or billion or octillion years, we will go extinct. Nothing lasts forever.

Would you rather we become Borg and have the species last a billion years, or be like it is now and have the race live a thousand? I'd rather not take the former.

many optimists think that it will but the truth is there's not enought time. Scientific discoveries take decades of research and fine tuning and by the time new discoveries are made toward cancer, AIDS, or even world hunger, it may already be too late.

Yes, we humans have made many use full technology like a.c to make us feel cool or like weapons to defend our selves from getting killed.
