Yes, it will change the taste a bit if that is the recipe you are used to. You can add a teaspon of liquor if you want such as brandy or cognac. Don't worry about the alcohol since vanilla is an extract in alcohol and it cook off during the baking process.

I always make it without vanilla. It's excellent that way especially if you have cinnamon, cloves, and ginger in the works. If you are really worried you can add a tsp of bourbon or other whiskey for an added flavor boost.

No, of course it won't taste nasty!! It will just lack the extra zing that vanilla provides!!

i ? sweet potato! yet being in NJ its uncommon that i visit get an excellent one and am no longer a large fan of creating my own pies yet i love pumpkin too. Mrs Smiths makes a good frozen to bake sweet potato

Yes, you can, depeinding on the recipe. I make them that way, yearly. My primary (our of 3 one of which is for mini pies) doesn't ask for vanlla. But my other pumpkin pie recipes, do.

yes you can and no it wont taste nasty, you wont notice it a whole lot. it will taste a bit different but not bad by anymeans.

it won't taste nasty...maybe just a bit bland tho...try adding more of the other spices.

you can make anything without the vanilla. you probably won't even notice. go for it.
