No, twelve glasses a day is fine. Too much water, can and will kill you. Several people a year die from water toxicity. It's rare, but happens. Usually it's from drinking multiple gallons in a few hours. 12 glasses isn't near enough to cause you problems.

12 glasses of water over the course of a day is fine for anyone with working kidneys.
However, it IS possible for a person to take in so much water so fast that an electrolyte imbalance occurs (low sodium in blood=hyponatremia), resulting in very serious metabolic and neurological consequences. This is called water intoxication or water toxicity, and it is real.

Drinking water is good for you body. Your kidney will filter out the excess water and you will piss it out or sweat it out. They only time when drinking too much water is bad for you is when you are engaging in endurance workouts, like a marathon or a triathlon. In that situation, drinking too much water will cause hypotranemia, which is when your body has an imbalance of sodium.

You should drink 8-12 glasses of water a day. It is the best thing you can drink. And maybe more if you work out alot.

Don't worry about drinking water, you need it for muscle contraction and to cleanse and detoxify your body?
Your muscles are 75% water! So figure out what they will look like if youre dehydrated.

The only way water can be bad for you is it makes you have to 'go' all the time. If that doesn't bother you than water's great...better than SODA.
