A RAR is just an archive, like a ZIP file. It actually compressess better than ZIP, so it's quite popular to put high quality mp3 albums in.

The rar format is a compression technology to make files smaller for transfer over the internet. If you look at www.download.com you should be able to find a free program that will allow you to uncompress the rar file, and be able to play the mp3's that inside of that.

you have to unzip these files... copy the files to another folder like my downloads, then down load winzip from
winzip.com install it
it is an exicutable file so just click on winzip.exe and it will install, then goto the folder you have put thr files in and bouble click on the file you want to unzip and winzip will unzip it... watch what winzip says and take note where it unzips it to
what i do is make a folder downloads, under downloads make another folder song name/ and under that song unzipped .. like
downloads/songname/unzipped.. hope you understand this
then play the music from there
btw make sure you download winzip into it's own folder

I concur, WinRaR is needed to unzip the archive file. It works just like Winzip.
