Your body has sensitive pressure points. When you push on certain points on your arteries and veins, your controling the bloodflow in your body. Pressure on arteries and veins tricks the body into thinking your blood pressure is too high, and thus will constrict and lower blood pressure, which can cause sleepiness. Some arteries, when pressure is applied, can cause a blackout. Striking veins and arteries can also cause them to shut or tear, both of which will definitely cause black-out and possible death if not treated immediately. The ninja, a Japenese assasain of the 14th century, practiced the technique of attacking a person's pressure points to knock them out or even cause death.

Hmmmmmm. I don't believe that to be a true. Then again, it might well be? I'd probably believe it if you said pressing on the Carotid artery, restricting blood flow to the brain.
