Ubuntu is a good Linux for starters. You can get FREE Cd's shipped to you at http://www.ubuntu.com . It has a good community that is willing to answer questions. It is based on the Debian distrobution and allows you to install software by a simple interface without having to know many commands at first.

Try RedHat, Suse, SlackWare, Unix.
But Better is Ubunto which comes free with live cd(that means you can check the OS without installation).

Get rid of Linux and get a real OS, like Windows!
