Atheists unit!!! lol. But yeah, why do people think that just because we don't believe in god, we're horrible, murdering, raping, pedophillic, satanist, evil beings? Personally every single person I've ever met that has been an atheist is extremely nice and moral. Including myself. When will religions start to realize we don't have to be sheep and believe something just because we are told to?

Most of them, like PajamaMama, believe that religion is the root of all morality and don’t understand that as Atheists we believe in science. Religion is mostly stagnant and fears an ever-changing structure of rules and knowledge.
What PajamaMama is hinting at, but won’t admit, is that Atheists use science to understand the world around them – and not supernatural happenings. Therefore, when you look at any group, herd, flock… you see that there is an intrinsic set of natural laws that are born and bred into every creature that lives with others. Don’t kill, be nice to your neighbor, don’t steal… there all there in the animal kingdom, without believing in supernatural dogma, and work perfectly. Occasionally there are going to be those that just don’t fit in (Ted Bundy, a Mormon by the way) and they are dealt with harshly by their tribe. It’s all extremely natural and happens from simple primates all the way to the justice system in our country.
Those who think that Atheists are horrible, murdering, raping, pedophilic, Satanist, evil beings are afraid that if society, and themselves, realize that who we are comes from our own parents and society as a whole, it undermines their own belief that religion is the root of all good. And if it is not the will of some supernatural being, then it must fall upon us – and that means we must accept personal responsibility. That is what this is all about. Religion relives those who cannot handle the reality of personal responsibility.
Why are people good? Because some supernatural being made them that way.
Why are some people bad? Because they don’t believe in the supernatural being.
Why do bad things happen? Because it is the will of the supernatural being.
Why did that good thing happen? Because it was the will of the supernatural being.
Religion is an escape and religious people are just jealous that you and I can accept reality as it is without the release of personal responsibility from a supernatural being.

I don't think atheist are horrible. But some people will because of the way some atheist attack others religion. If you don't believe in anything, that's fine. But when you attack someone Else's religion, it's offensive just as you would hate someone religious attacking you for not believing in what they believe. There are some odd balls whether religious or not who are just critical to others because they don't agree with what they believe, and then there are people who accept everyone for who they are. So, don't feel that way about all religious people.

As a Christian, I don't think atheist are horrible. In fact I wouldn't label any group of people as anything. Atheist believe differently than I do. I wish I could help you think the way that I do, but intelligent people can disagree civilly. There are good and bad atheists, just as people who claim to be Christians are good and bad. We are human. We are all seeking truth. We disagree on what that truth is.

As a christian girl I know that those who believe in God tend to judge those who don't. I don't go to church every Sunday like I am suppose to and I am judged for that. Anyway to answer your question people judge and don't want to see who you really are. They only see what they want to see.. you NOT going to church because you don't believe. Anyway even though people say they are Christians doesn't necessary mean they act like Christians. Do you know what I mean? I am NOT perfect and either are those who say they are Christian or not.(or ANY other religion) I hope this will help you some.If it doesn't I do apologize for not being helpful. Good Luck!

people are afraid of other people with differences. its your choice and its your opinion. i they're good christians they wont let the fact that ur an atheists affect them, because christians are supposed to be accepting. im not saying all christians will be accepting but i mean afterall, christianity wouldnt be around if christians werent accepting in the 1st place b/c thats the whole reason it spread. ppl have different ideas and some people just dont like people with diffrent ideas than them.

Your question would desire to study "Why are some people so terrible to those with different ideals?" because of the fact the rudeness does flow in each course. that's not suitable if that's an Atheist chatting with a Christian or a Muslim or a Christian chatting with an Atheist or Muslim or a Christian who belongs to a different sect of the perception, some people would be impolite whilst discussing their ideals. Why? countless reasons, one being that they are in basic terms reacting to rudeness from the different element. yet another excuse is that throughout the time of discussing their hobby or zeal for his or her own ideals some people can come throughout the time of as somewhat impolite to those who do no longer proportion those ideals. yet yet another excuse could be that some people are so wrapped up of their own ideals and perceive themselves as those ideals (and not the rest) that as quickly as they arrive throughout the time of somebody who disagrees with those ideals the see this war of words as being terrible or impolite, regardless of no be counted if it somewhat is or no longer. and of direction there are some people who're in basic terms impolite, regardless of no be counted if or no longer they are discussing faith, politics or the wonderful toppings for a hotdog. Now i do no longer propose to be impolite right here yet i could propose that anybody picking to communicate a project (any project) in a public communicate board needs to enhance a thick epidermis, because of the fact people who're overly gentle are going to sense persecuted even whilst they do no longer look to be being persecuted.

I don't think Atheists are horrible. I just think they're hypocrites, and let me tell you why.
The ones who claim to be good and respectable are either:
a) Liars. They are just saying that to deflect criticism
b) Hypocrites. They basically hold the same values as most religious people hold, that are all based on the Judeo-Christian bible's teachings. They fail to see that a widely held and adhered to moral code is the only thing that allows our civilization to exist. Most Atheists proclaim to follow the philosophy of Moral Relativism, which basically says that there is no "right" or "wrong", but only what each individual thinks, based on their individual "made-up" belief system. But they fail to answer the question "but if that's true, why is Ted Bundy in jail? HIS belief system made the brutal torture and murder of women ok...so wasn't it ok? Weren't his rights to freedom of choice violated when he was arrested and jailed for his actions?"
Atheists fail to acknowledge an overriding and empirical set of mores that apply to all cultures, all peoples.

It's only a few on the moronic wing, and they're mostly just desperate for attention. Have a thick skin. At least they're not burying us alive under rocks these days. Small mercies, etc.
