Too be honest you are actually overweight for your age. Keep in mind I said overweight NOT fat. I am of the same hieght and have more than 5 years on you and am 120lbs. You could stand to lose no more than 20 pounds to be at ideal weight because at 14 when you start to get older the weight does not go down it just goes up. And when you hit your 19-21 age range you will also gain but in the places that make you a woman (the hips and butt). It would not be healthy to lose 30lbs. because that is not a realistic view of weight loss. Don't put a number on it! Try adding some more activity in your routine, you are still very young and a nice long walk or bike ride to a friends could be all you need to get your metabolism going. Also watch your junk food intake (i know this can be hard at your age but only you can help yourself) and soda you drink (soda-pop contributes alot of calories). Also, confide in a parent or older sibling to help you manage. Discuss with them your feelings and how to be realistic about your weight. Please! Never feel bad about yourself, you always have the power to change it and always do this in a healthy way! Much love and support!

I don't believe you are fat. However, if you do lose some weight do NOT lose more than 10 pounds. 125 would be perfect for you and quit looking at others and comparing yourself. It will always be something you think is better than what you have. So stop it so you can lead a happy life.

well, im 15, 5"11 and 144 pounds, and im about right i think, but im a boy, this isnt a very good way of telling if you are healthy or not try seeing if you get puffed out if you run up the stairs, or if you have alot of flab hanging over the top of your trousers, then consider losing weight

A. You're in a healthy weight range for your age. No, you're not fat.

B. I think you could lose about 10 if you really wanted to, but, any more than that you should decide on later. You really don't want to cut your calories too much at your age. Being too thin at your age sets you up for osteoporosis when you're older.

BMI and BMR for weight loss

All of us know that we gain weight when we take extra calories and lose weight when we consume lesser calories. We need to know how much we should weigh and how many calories we should consume everyday in a healthier way. BMI helps us in knowing how much we should weight. I have already written about BMI in earlier of my post. If you need to know about BMI, you can get it from my post Know if you need to lose weight.
http://fast-weightloss.blogspot.com/2006/09/know-if-you-need-to-lose-weight.html

And BMR can calculate the amount of calories we should consume. BMR, which is Basal Metabolic Rate, informs you the amount of calories you need everyday as a way to retain the current weight. To calculate your BMR you have to just enter your sex, age and weight in pounds. So know the amount of calories you need everyday to keep up with the current weight.

If you are satisfied with your current weight, only then you should enter your current weight. Otherwise you should enter your goal weight in pounds which you ant to achieve. So in this way taking the amount of calories you should, you will slowly get the desired weight you were looking for. But before making any changes in your eating pattern, it is always good to take help from your doctor.

So you will also find BMI and BMR really helpful weight loss tools by which you are able to know the amount of calories you need to get to the desired weight.

Check with the CDC on that one. Heres the link.

Remember, your body still has growing to do so a little extra padding probably won't hurt at your age. Stay active and eat in moderation and you should be fine.

Take Care

No, you're not fat, but if you ever feel too fat, you can induce vomiting or stop eating for long periods of time.
