because most religions teach us to believe in an ILLOGICAL SUPERNATURAL bunch of mumbo jumbo, while at the same time offering us ZERO proof

I have a lot of intelligent students that believe in God.
For psiphiphi...the air thing is good, but the brain is better. I tell people who say that all the time that I can't see their brain either. Then, of course, they still argue that it exists. And I say prove it and guess what? They can't prove it! Seeing A brain doesn't count either...I want those who argue this to prove it.
It all comes full circle. One day I am going to argue the brain thing with someone and they are going to tell me to come to the doctors to prove it and I am going to say that it's a myth, not really a brain, some men years ago decided what the brain looked like, called it a brain, and now people are swallowing the lie. Then, I'll have to say that the doctor is fabricating it all.
You get my point.
Why do the people who did and are still accused today accepting of the so called "myth"? Wouldn't they deny it if it weren't true?
On Jesus...what hero do you know dies? You can't make up a story and have it survive this long without SOMEBODY proving it wrong.

I know a lot of intelligent people who do believe in GOD. So what is the point you are making here? And I know some not so intelligent people who do not.

This is a very vague question. How are you determining most? How do you know if they are intelligent or not?
Where did you get the information as to their personal beliefs?
A more careful constructed sample group would be better to theorize this assumption. Askaway says she only beleives what she sees. I guess electricity does not exist in her world. You cannot see electricity only the effects from it. Same with God. You can choose not to believe, but that doesn't make it go away.

The answer is quite simple.
"Intelligent People" mostly believe things that can be proven. They're lead by facts while the rest of the "less intelligent people" base their beliefs under faith.
The easy way to prove this is to check how many scientists (astrologers, etc) actually believe in God....they lead their lives according what they're hable to discover or learn

Why do all the unintelligent people swallow the god lie? They have a monopoly on truth based on a book written long ago by men who thought the world was flat and disease is caused by demons. Not only that, they believe it is a violation of their rights if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their superstitious beliefs down every ones throat. We just have to marginalize them, which may mean an all out war against institutionalized stupidity.

Do they not? It is my understanding that the greatest minds (Hawkings, Einstein etc) do come to believe in something greater than themselves, even if they do not start out there ... too many coincidences and impossibilities otherwise.
Why do the least intelligent people always think that their version or vision or God or religion is the only "true" one?

Because belief in God (or anything unprovable for that matter) has nothing to do with Intelligence, it has to do with Faith.
It also has to do with Free Agency, which was God's greatest gift to humans.
To assume one who does not believe in God is therefore not intelligent is a poor argumentative basis.

Scientists are trained to be sceptical for their work. This means that they're simply more likely to challenge the idea of God than the non-scientist.
When we talk of the intelligent, we tend to mean scientists rather than brilliant playwrights.

Good Question. I think people who are intelligent tend to think they don't NEED God and can live without Him, which is not true. They think they're so smart that God can't possibly make their lives any better.

Intelligent people don't believe of a "magical" man in the sky who judges them when they die. Religion was a means of control in the old times when empires were too vast to have total control, what better way to control the ignorant than to tell them work hard for me and obey me so when you die you don'tl suffer for eternity.
