No, because in Americans wisdom they disbanded the Iraqi police and military force after tthe fall of Saddam.
Iraqi's have no real means of defending themselves.... and the country would quickly fall to the Taliban.

I personally don't think it will make too much of a difference. The Sunnis and Shiites are more concerned with killing each other than with targeting the American soldiers.
Iraq is dissolving into civil war, and I fear there may be a genocide there on the scale of what happened in Rwanda. Iraqis were better off under Saddam Hussein, in my opinion: they had electricity, running water, and could go to market without the fear of being blown up. Now, the country is in shambles and resembles Somalia in many ways, except the violence in Iraq is perhaps worse.
Iraq would certainly not be a better place if the coalition forces left, but I doubt that the presence of the coalition forces will make a difference in how fast the situation deteriorates.

No, not at first. Things are pretty bad there now, but anyone thinking that things will simply calm down once coalition forces leave are in for a rude surprise - in fact, things may actually get worse. You see, Saddam's government was pretty brutal to those folks but they weren't fighting back then because they were all in the same boat (meaning they were all equally terrified). When Saddam's regime fell it left a huge power vacuum behind it. What you're seeing now is all of these factions and tribes killing each other (as well as U.S. troops) while trying to fill that vacuum and come out on top. The presence of the U.S. is like a really leaky pressure valve; it's leaking pretty bad, but it's still holding back a lot of pressure and keeping things from exploding. Remove that leaky pressure valve and Iraq is going practically blow up in the form of massive sectarian violence, way worse than what you've been seeing on the news so far.
A big part of the problem is that the Iraqis are simply waiting for the U.S. and other coalition forces to solve all their problems for them (they've been doing this since day one). So far it's pretty apparent that this isn't going to happen anytime soon, not without the native Iraqis contributing to the effort. Ironically, it might just take a publicly announced U.S. pullout to make that happen: when the newly-formed Iraqi government sees that they are going to have to do their own heavy lifting from now on and can't depend on the U.S. to do it for them, they might actually bother to make more than a half-assed effort to restore order to their own country.

Iraqi defense forces would be left with their butts out in the open... many operations are combined US-Iraqi forces.
If all US forces leave before the Iraqi forces are ready to handle themselves, they would be pretty easy targets for Insurgents.
(even if there is an operation without US troops, there is usually US close air support for back up)
Would it be a better place? really don't know. Many IEDs and VBIEDs are not even hitting US forces. everyday in the news we see 50-60 dead in Iraq and they are almost all civis, "car bomb in market kills 20" so its mainly Iraqis against Iraqis.
US forces are handing over territory to the Iraqi forces more and more now. That way US forces are less and less under fire.
Whats done its done. We should stay there until the Iraqi forces can handle themselves and then leave.

Yes of course! as it happened to be a better place for Iraqis before the invasion. The situation is deteriorating, everything is getting worst and worst. No single evidence can be shown which could prove that the invasion is made in order to make things better to Iraqis. No single evidence can show that. The reasons given are 'the ties of Iraqi government with Alqaeeda' and 'weapons of mass destruction'. None of the stated reasons have been found so far. So the invasion is UNJUST and injustice. Things were better during Saddams regime. No joke. No such secterian violence and insurgency attacks during his time. Children go to school and hospitals has good healthcare facilities. There was 75% security at that time. What of now. Most of Iraqi children are father or motherless. They are living in camps with no good food and good drinking water talkless of good education, and if sick have to stay with their illness until they die because there are no good healthcare facilities. Everyone is vulnerable, no body can feel safe in Iraq; ordinary citizens, Iraqi forces, ruling class and the invasion army themselves. Nobody heared of such before the invasion.
The problem is that americans can never restore peace, law and order in Iraq. So far they continue to stay there, the chaos would definitely continue. And now, nobody from Iraqi people can re-group shiites, Sunnis and Kurds under one umbrella as they were before. Everything has worsened. We pray for peace to Iraqi people and the rest of the world. But the invasion army should withdraw from Iraq if they want peace to regain the control of Iraq. PEACE TO ALL

Without going into the rights and wrongs of why we are in Iraq, we are there and the mess that our forces are trying to deal with is in part, of our own making. we therefore have a moral duty to remain and try to clear up the mess. If we turn our backs on Iraq now I believe there would be a full blown civil war and a lot more innocent people would pay with their lives.

i don't know who prouds been talking to, but i haven't spoken with any soldiers who think we should stay there. my husband trains the Iraqis, and can hardly get any of them stay. it will take 100 years, and I'm not exaggerating, for this war to ever end. the generals i have said this as a fact. my husband has had soldiers die, friends die, and does not want to see another brother in arms die over what? for what? Afghanistan is a different story. there's purpose there. Iraq is now in civil war. we do not have enough troops or money for that. the Iraqis were suffering before us, there suffering now, they will suffer when the troops leave. i say let them pray to there fake god and pull out. there has been sectarian difficulties since Muhammad died. do you really think America can put it an end to it? the Iraq government and people needs to step up, and they will not do it, as long as we are there.

Iraq would be a much better place because people wouldn't be trying to kill U.S. soldiers with car bombs

Iraq is in no way ready to handle us leaving right now. In all likelyhood, civil war would break out and the country would be in serious ruin. It sickens me to hear about all our soldiers dying on the news, but people die in war, we have to accept that. We need to stay and finish the job so all our boys (and girls) wouldn't have died in vain.

Iraq would collapse into civil unrest, and be wholly worse off for quite some time to come, I'm afraid.
