If you consider the sugar in your coffee/tea and things like candy and desserts then yes, it's healthy because those are excess sugars your body likely doesn't need. Sugar in carbs, and in your fruits and veggies are more natural ... keep them in your diet. =)

Carbohydrates include starch, sugars and fiber. Many of them are a good source of vitamins and minerals. You don't have to cut them all, just be selective.
You can use the glicemic index in the food's label to do so. The lower the better. Stay away of refined sugars and bread and pasta made from bleached flour and look for vegetables, fruits and whole grains instead.
Carbs are the main source of fuel in your body, specially for your brain, which is unable to use proteins or fat as alternative fuel. It means you should'nt reduce its consume under a 20 grams level per day.
I started a low carb diet a few weeks ago (8) and I have lost 18 pounds so far. It is not too restrictive, so I don't starve myself. I do 30 min of exercise 3 times a week and I feel more energized than ever.
If you follow my advice you will be thiner and healthier without suffering in the process.
Good luck.

You can live well without refined sugar (and fructose also) or any foods that contain it. It has no particularly important nutrients so you won't miss much and you may be healthier if you don't eat it or at least cut back on your consumption.
However there is sugar in fresh fruits, which do contain important nutrients that promote good health. There is sugar in an apple (for example) but it is metabolized more slowly than the sugar in a soft drink. Plus, there is fiber in the apple, and vitamins.
You will lose weight only if you burn more calories than you eat.

It's pretty much impossible to remove all sugar from your diet. There are sugars in fruit, milk, vegetables, even some grains and meats.
But you can cut out *refined* sugar, and that's a great idea. Just be sure to allow yourself a little treat now and then to keep you from feeling deprived.

Yes! Cut out refined sugar, you will never miss it. You will get plenty of the carbs, simple and complex that your body needs from whole foods like fruits, veggies and grains. Of course the best way for successful permanent weight loss and fitness is to exercise which will change the way your body metabolizes food... forever!

No it is not. Everyone needs some sugar in their diet.
"Sugar is an important source of food energy. During digestion, all food carbohydrates (starches and sugars) break down into single molecule sugars."
"Carbohydrate is the fuel for your muscles and other body functions. So sugar, or carbohydrate, is necessary for life. In fact, your brain only uses sugar for fuel."
Sugar is naturally present in most foods except meat.

No. Sugars are needed to function and get a boost in ATP or Adenosine TriPhosphate which is an energy molecule in your cells. Plus, even fruit has sugar in it and thats healthy.

YES refined sugar we don't need and can definitely do without. Sugar from fruit and other natural sources will be enough. Also, if you take in enough protein, you'll find you won't crave sugar as much. Try it - you'll be amazed!
