don't tell me it's about having faith. having faith is different from having an inherent curiosity to further your knowledge about what you choose to believe. some people take things at face value and don't bother to explore what it is they claim to follow. or is it just that these people are lacking in both curiosity and intelligence?

You are smart and motivated. So I will give you a good answer.
I am led to the conclusion, besides what you said, being told as a young person, is that personality and worldviews affects thinking, and consclusion.
Proof, tell me your definition of time. Based on what you say of this simple question, I can tell you a lot about you, and about me.
What is time? Serious!!
Then, how many sides does a coin have? I or 2? Maybe material on one side, and the immaterial on the other. The immaterial is 2+2=4, I exist, consciousness, free will. And more.
I have little faith. I believe in facts.

For me it was growing up in an Atheist home..I was told there was no God..I took everything at face value..without thinking of others needs before that of my own.. :(
I never explored why the Christians always talked about Love, Peace, Joy, Kindness, Goodness and Gentleness..I thought it was because they were brainwashed by their parents and friends.. :(
I was lacking in curiosity and thought these people were living in the dark ages and had a very low IQ.. :(
It was not until I asked God if He was real with a sincere and seeking heart, did He show Himself unto me.. :)
Now I Know that it is not a matter of intelligence that makes a person..but the Kindness of ones heart toward another.. :)

The Bible is Gods word. It is proven true. It has a history all backed and proven. It is current. The things told of yesterday, today and tomorrow are all in this Book of LIfe and all proven true. Faith is believing in a truth that we as Christians know to be true. God lives in our lives and proves himself everyday.

Because they're mindless zombies and prefer not to think too hard or too much. This is why they believe everything they see on TV, whether it be fashion based on current programming and film, news according to the networks, and even morality and ethics according to what the TV says.

The people to whom you refer don't lack in curosity or intelligence neccessarily--they're just accepting. Some people are like that. It takes a bad life experience (anything), sometimes more than one experience, for "Freddy or Fredrica Kilowat's light to come on".
