Hi pussinboo!!!

I sang for many years. Since I was in grammar school, church and I even won trophies, when I was singing for the Middle School and High School.

I enjoyed every minute of it!!! When performing I was the leading singing voice, which means the highest. I have to say all my singing friends were very good. I do not sing for public anymore.(sorry to say). But I still have my voice.

To cultivate your voice there are exercises, for breathing, which is so important, and always try not to be tense.

You can also buy this note enhancer, I can't remember the name but is like a small whistle. it whistles the notes and you can try to match it.

Also try to buy one of those electronic pianos, to practice matching your DO-RE-MI....... take care of your throat for colds and diet and exercises help to maintain focus.

Also if you can try taking some piano classes or guitar, that will help you then later, to accompany yourself while singing, and also make your own music.

Keep on if that is what makes you happy, sing out strong!!!
Good luck!!! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

One thing that makes a universe of difference in the quality of your voice is the raising of your soft pallate to open up your voice. Also, always warm up with scales before you sing, while going as high and low as you can, without hurting yourself. Singing loud isn't necesarily something that is good all the time. You should give your singing dynamics by changing the loudness throughout the peice. Most of all, just practice whenever you can! Good luck!

Stay on key, that's the main thing to accomplish. And don't forget the words, don't laugh , it happens. Voice quality is a very relative term. Have you ever heard Tom Waits? Terrible voice quality but it all comes directly from the heart. And that's what you should do; sing from the heart. Breathing, or correct breathing, is another overlooked tool. check the link, good luck.

Me my self as a bassist i have performed backing vocals for my previous bands for a whilst now. What I do is have the mic grew to become down just a little diminish then the tune thats being performed so i will certainly sing loud with my voice with out blowing everyones ears out. Sing alongside to Nirvana songs and a few Alice in chains. Two very effortless bands to get began off on.

When you're going high, let your hand go where your voice goes (over your head) to raise your soft pallete. That's one hing that can help.

You need to work on breathing to hold notes longer. Use as much air as you can when you sing.

Making it sound prettier and changing it will just take a lot of time and practice.

Good luck. =)

1. always drink plenty of water to loosen your vocal chords
2. practice with warm-ups
3. breath correctly with the diapraghm, shoulders back, standing straight, and one foot slightly behind the other
4. don't sing for more than 3 hrs to prevent injury to your voice
5. practice doesn't make perfect, it makes a vocal chord permanent.
6. don't strain your voice to prevent laryngitis
7. only hit notes that come naturally and easily to you first, before trying a new note

Be careful not to hurt your voice; don't force it. Don't overdo it.

Sing from your chest, not your throat.

It's been a while since I took singing lessons, so I've forgotten just about everything else.

If you can afford it, get a good teacher.

There use to be books/CDs/DVDs available from stores. Try your local college's music department.

You must must must get a voice teacher. They will teach you correct posture, breath support, tounge position, pick appropriate pieces for you to work on, teach you correct diction for foreign language pieces... it is invaluable help. If you're in middle or high school there is probably one at your school; listen to people in choir and once you find someone whose voice you like, ask them who their teacher is. I can almost guarantee if they are planning to go anywhere vocally that they have a voice teacher.

Break a leg.
