What makes you think powerful entities don't fight, too?

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

"Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith (or one says that he believes) but he does not have works? That faith (or belief) cannot save him, can it?" (James 2:14)

"You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder. But do you care to know, O empty man, that faith apart from works is inactive? Faith without works is dead." (James 2:19, 20, 26)

Before you say that everyone else is gullibe in life when it comes to God, do your works (actions prove) that you are approved by God. You know if you are if you are following these Biblical principles.

1) Flee from fornication. No sex before marriage. (1Corinthians 6:18)

2) Preaching the Good News of God's Kingdom. Going from city to city, village to village, door to door like Jesus did. (Matthew 9:35; 24:14)

3) Taking in accurate knowledge of Jehovah God (John 17:3), for this means everlasting life

4) Clean of every defilement of flesh, which includes smoking (cigarettes, cigars, weed, blunt, abusive drinking, loose conduct, recreational drugs). (2 Corinthians 7:1)

5) Free from drunkeness, gluttony, homosexuality (includes lesbians too), thievery, stealing, for such ones will not inherit God's Kingdom. (1 Corithians 6:9-11)

6) Do whatever is possible to avoid the machinations of the Devil. That includes merely believing that God exists and that's it. Satan does not want ones to know about God because he does not want anyone to have everlasting life. Remember, Satan the Devil means "Resister and Opposer." (Ephesians 6:11)

7) "No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for riches. Keep on seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness." (Matthew 6:24, 33) If you are not doing things according to God's will, then you were slaving for the devil, that same character that you do not think exists. He exists. In fact, he is doing all that he can to deter ones from learning the truth. Just look at your local news and all the badness going on and the motives and attitudes of these people.

8) The scriptures is inspired of God and beneficial, for reproving, for teaching, for setting things straight (2 Timothy 3:16). Everythin in the Bible is true. The Bible says Satan exists and that he is the real ruler of this world, which is why there is all of this suffering and pain today. (2 Corinthians 4:4; 1John 5:19) If you do not think so, read Matthew chapter 24 and then 2 Timothy 3:1-5 and tell me those things are not happening now.

Before saying untruths, it is often wise to consult the Bible before we utter anything that is up for debate. All of the points that were made were all backed up scripturally. Therefore, when someone tries to challenge me on it, I can show them in their Bible that it says the same thing and it prevents me from stumbling others if I were to say it myself. It saves me much grief and unecessary trouble.

Take Care,
