Muscles tigtening in one spot either from exertion or from an injury. My brother and I used to give each other charlie horses by smacking each other in the meaty part of the leg when the other person wasn't ready. Fun stuff eh?

Charlie horses are caused by an impact or to much pressure striking or compressing a nerve against the bone, causing the shocking feeling and the tingling. My 2 cents worth anyway. Take Care

For muscle cramps, I have had a lot of success recommending calcium-magnesium-zinc pills 3x daily with meals and extra servings of fruit or fruit juice for potassium. Be sure to stretch well before you exercise.

I read they are usually caused by muscle fatigue/overuse or mineral/electrolyte imbalance. Check your calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium balance in your nutrition tracker. Usually adding more calcium helps and I know long distance bike riders who drank more gatorade to get more K+ and that ended their leg cramp problem. Hope this helps because I know they hurt like hell.
