Crossing the border unlawfully might only be a misdemeanor, but identity theft is a felony. Being illegal is just a "doorway" to commit larger crimes in order to survive with no documentation.

Why do you pro-illegals always try to compare your illegal activity with that of legitimate civil rights struggles? Women's suffrage and Civil Rights for African Americans are legitimate issues. Your false statement that it used to be Mexican land is outrageous and racistly slanted rhetoric at best. It was never Mexican land. Portions of the Americas, and what is now the USA, once belonged to SPAIN, FRANCE, and ENGLAND before the USA settled it, fought for it, and died for it, and the fact remains that these lands belonged to the Native Americans before any of these others mentioned. Only south-Texas was ever owned by Mexico, but sold to Tejanos/Texans by the Mexican government for war funds. Illegal Immigration has always been a federal felony crime; however, these days it is often only a part of the total offense conduct, to include other more serious crimes such as identity theft, drug smuggling, narco-money laundering, and even terrorism. Not to mention that it causes a serious strain on resources of the local, state, and federal government, and municipality administration of services that the LEGAL American citizen and tax-payer foots the bill for. In summary, YES, it is REALLY a crime, and they really are CRIMINALS!

So, you go on land that is posted? It is posted for a reason, the owner does not want anyone on his property. You do not support "braking" (wrong) the law!! Then what are you doing? If you cross the border to come into the USA, you are breaking the law. Laws are not made to be broken..So, if someone comes into the US, illegally they are breaking the law. If someone comes into your home, without ringing the door bell, you going to invite them in for tea? It used to be mexican land? That's right, it "used" to be!! The examples that you use, do not fit your question..The wrongs were made right!! When, and if, the law is changed, the answer to your question, is "yes". Actually, Mexico is not a poor country, there leaders are to blame for all the poverty in Mexico. They have a great amount of oil, but their government is so corrupt, they want to keep everything for themselves. There is no excuse for Mexico to be a third world country.

Some misdemeanors can carry up to a year in jail and heavy fines. People who commit misdemeanors are commiting a crime. Illegal immigrants suck away resources that are needed because when they have kids their kids are citizens and entitled to be schooled in the US. It used to be that they worked in industries that most Americans would not settle for. However today it is not uncommon to find them in construction and other industries that Americans are willing to work. They drive down the wages because they are willing to live in squalor because this is common place in their native countries. Hospitals cannot refuse treatment based on lack of citizenship or insurance and they will not call INS when Mexicans come to the hospital. (If they did it would most likely result in illegals not seeking medical attention when needed) They are reluctant to seek the authorities when crimes are committed or witnessed because of their immigration status. Therefore they can become prey for the hungry con men out there. America cannot afford to take in the wave of illegals crossing the border. Throughout history America has made smart decisions that are reflected in how marvelous are country is. Mexico has made poor decisions and this history is evident in the present day situation in Mexico. We should do all we can to help Mexico overcome poverty and most imortantly corruption. However we should not take on the burden of a population of illegaly placed Mexican citizens with a hunger for entitlement that our countries citizenship unfortunately gives out all too easily.

Basic civil rights for citizens is an entirely different issue. Yes, they are criminals! They knowingly and flagrantly disregard our laws, at times even stealing other people's private personal data to get what they want. Immediate deportation, w/o a hearing is what we need now. If they, or their children, are illegal--boot them back. What gives any group the right to take what they want, just because they want it? What about the families who do things legally, even though they may never be able to bring their families here??

No, we should not treat illegals LIKE criminals. We should treat them AS criminals, because that's exactly what they became when they jumped the border.
If an American violates Mexico's laws while in Mexico, the American will be treated as a criminal. And this is as it should be. The law is the law. It applies to everybody irrespective of where they came from or are going to.
The "right" solution is a mutual respect, and adherence to, each nation's laws by it's own citizens as well as all other foreign nationals.
There is nothing hateful about obeying laws. Doing wrong IS hateful.

Yes, you do support law breakers. Not only do you support breaking the law you justify it and cherry pick what is legal and illegal.
So you also have to say that if someone breaks into you home steals your's or your parents ID uses it, that would be okay also right?
Not only do you support criminals you are real history challenged
Mexico never owned the USA. They only occupied part of the Southwest. Oh you also probably think pigs fly.
You are real brained washed. As they say tell uneducated people a lie only a few times and they believe it. Sad.

So you are saying that everyone in the world should be able to enter our country as a "civil right"? Ridiculous.
No country can stand without controlling it's borders. Mexico knows this, and arrests, imprisons, or shoots illegals trying to enter their country. Perhaps you should go down there and try to impress them with your argument.

I do agree well I am an immigrant not an illegal one though, so I understand their desperate journey to the USA, a lot of them are men, women that wants a future for their child in which a lot a of countries can't provide, but of course there is the "messy ones" that makes them and their people look bad, we are not criminals we help here, most of the people here are elderly people in the future Americans will need our help, Italy will too, the fact of being judged as criminals is that we come to the very own "Powerful Country" you can ask every person in here they will say "my ancestors are Scottish, Irish, Spanish, and whatever" do you think that they came "Legal"? no, it is better to come illegal than steal other people money and life.... don't be the ones who hates immigrants because we are considered "criminals" get to know us better, don't forget that there is always the "bad boys".

Yes crossing our border is only for now a misdemeanor, but do a web search, and you will find that using a fake or stolen ID and SS card is not a misdemeaner.

first of all, we should NOT add mexico as a state, we already have to many immigants, we dont need more. Yes they are REALLY criminals. Unless they are actually legal, then I dont have a problem. They work at some place and send the money back to Mexico. It is hurting our economy!!!
