I weigh about 220lbs and I'd like to get down to 170-175lbs. I work a whole lot...and don't have any time to work out. I don't really eat that well...but I know that's gotta change. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't want to sound harsh, but as someone who was in your shoes once, I'm going to give you a little tough love, OK?

Yes, you DO have time to exercise. If you've got time to check your email or read a magazine, or watch TV, you've darn well got time to take a walk around the block. If you can't squeeze in half an hour, do 15 minutes. Do 10, Do five jumping jacks, take the stairs. If it's important enough to you, you will squeeze it in somehow.

Now, go in your kitchen and just throw out every morsel of junk food. If the first five ingredients have trans fat, sugar, salt, or any other crap, just throw it away. Go get some vegetables, fruits, lean meats and whole grains.

Eat breakfast, even if you have to get up early, have a banana, a slice of toast, and a glass of milk, or make some oatmeal.

Most of all, know that you CAN DO THIS! I know you can, if you work it, it works!

*hugs*

Have you tried a cleanse? I've been trying exercise only for about 4 months and I only dropped 7 lbs. But with cleaning and exercising I lost 22 lbs in a month. I tried Isagenix 9 day cleanse. I'm going to do it again next month. My doctor recommended it to me for my weight loss. With a good cleanse you can lose up to 10 lbs in 9 days. And it's not just water weight. Just cleanse, eat healthy and exercise at least 1 hour 3 times a week. Even if it's just walking around the mall or the track. I'm now on month 2 and I've lost a total of 35lbs. Good luck.

Stay away from sugar and simple carbs. I am trying to lose weight and not pig out and am having the hardest time, but it gets easier when I don't eat sugar and don't eat the "bad" carbs.

In other words, forget sodas, desserts, cereals, even some fruits for a while if you have to. Skip the white or pita bread.

Instead, try soda made with Splenda or no sweetener, low-fat whole grain bread, low-fat cheese, yogurt, milk or cream cheese. Skip eating out and make sandwiches at home (my husband "accidentally" lost 30 lbs this way). Have "dessert" in the form of fruits with fiber (not bananas, apricots, etc. but apples). Have some sugar-free low-carb oatmeal such as mccans sugar-free instant oatmeal. Use fat-free low-carb milk (such as Carb Countdown).

Bottom line--empty calories make your sugar swing and make you feel that you need to eat more. This includes sugar and refined carbohydrates (not whole grains or oats).

Best thing is to consult with a doctor or nutrionist, of course, to confirm the healthiest thing for you to do. This is just a suggestion.

I have been "battling" weight and health problems for a long time and didn't want to admit "I had the problem". A good friend of mine has similar problems and South Beach Diet Plan or life style was prescribed by her doctor.
I have found that it is easy to follow and I don't binge or get those "hunger pangs" like I did trying other "diets" and believe me I've tried just about everything. Got tired of counting "points", drinking my meals, and counting every single morsel I ate. This is by far the easiest I have ever done. The one thing that remains important is that we all need to "get up and move".
GOOD LUCK!!!
