Okay me again and well I live in Dawson Creek(yes its a real place, not just a show) and well theres LOTS of snow, and its cold! so Im getting a little purse to carry around Skyler(thats what Im gonna call her, think its a good name?) in so shes not so cold. So ppl said dont use collars, so how can I have her little license tags on her?

Also I have three type of puppy food I have to choose from(since theres not alot of brands out there) theres pedigree, IAMS I think, and truly which is a Zellers brand(I shop there because I get my employee discount)

And my grandpas Shih Tzu had puppies a while back, and shes very motherly... do you think that she'll take Skyler as her own lol

You can attach tags to her harness as well, and buy her a couple sweaters for going outside to potty.

I wouldn't go with the store brand, those are often worse than most of your better known brands.

You can order dog food online too. Or make your own. I've been feeding raw for a couple years now. It can actually be cheaper than buying "dog" food. I've got 2 full grown 100lb dogs, and 1 medium sized dog, and a pup. Since one of the adult dogs belongs to my boyfriend who won't let me feed raw, he's on high quality kibble. And you wouldn't believe it, but its true, it costs more per month to feed his one dog, than it costs for me to feed all 3 of mine.

Back when it was just my two dogs, I fed them both raw for about $60 a month. Pretty cheap, and very very healthy.

Of course your dog would likely cost much less to feed raw.

I honestly thing raw diets are the best, as they are as close to a biologically appropriate diet as you can get.

How exciting to be getting a new baby! Chihuahuas are the best! I raise them. I LOVE the name Skyler. It is beautiful. Harnesses work best for a chihuahua. Chihuahuas have trouble with their trachea sometimes and the pulling of a collar against their throat can aggravate it. Pedigree is not a very good brand of dog food. I am not familiar with Truly, or whatevevr the one is from Zellers. Iams is a good food, so out of those I would choose IAMS. The Shih Tzu may well take a motherly role with your new puppy. Good luck!!

If you are not going to have her wear a collar, how about a full body harness? You can attach the tags to the harness or to the leash which is attached to the harness. Also, consider getting her a microchip.
I have tried many, many dog foods through the years. None of them make my dogs skin and fur feel as great as Solid Gold Hund-N-Flocken! I definitely notice a difference in the way they act, and the way they feel!
Enjoy your puppy! Take good care of her.

Use a harness for your chihuahua...you can still attach tags to that. Don't feed your dog IAM's, Pedigree, or a grocery store brand if you want her to live a long healthy life. I would order some higher quality food online. Try Innova, Canidae, Wellness, Flint River Ranch...ones that don't contain corn or by-products. Chihuahuas don't eat much, so you wouldn't have to order often. http://www.naturapet.com

you can make or buy her a woven collar and put the license on there.

your grandpas dog might act motherly to her but be careful that the dog might feel your dog is a threat so just watch her :)

i think purina or get a bit of them all and make a mixture
