It pisses me off being a soldier but you have to remember I fight for their right to protest. The 2nd line of the oath of enlistment is "that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States" this includes the freedom of speech.

The Westboro Baptists church is between the significant motives such an excellent type of persons dislike Christianity. They p.c.. and choose what aspects of the Bible are to be believed. they fairly anger me as well. i'm no longer a Christian in any respect even with the truth that, i'm a blend of Paganism, non secular satanism, buddhism and shintoism. I actually have study and studied the bible myself, for the reason that i like to debate and study about faith and the westboro church has a more desirable precise description of god than maximum christians. God does punish and god does hate. It says so in the bible. They were provided that section precise, although the bible also says this is not for guy to evaluate others and to love thy neighbor. subsequently the westboro church is the picture of maximum christians, hypocrites. they are only propose hypocrites. No offense to christians meant by using this answer. i appreciate your ideals, only want more desirable human beings had more desirable understanding of what the bible says.

That kind of thing makes me physically sick. Those "dead soldiers" that "God hates" are the reason those idiots can prance around with their stupid signs and not get arrested. They protested a funeral near my hometown after a school bus went off an interstate overpass and killed 4 students. Said God hates America because we support gays, so God killed these poor kids. Fortunately 2 city buses just happened to park right in front of their demonstration, blocking it from view. If they ever showed up at a funeral of one of my friends there'd be hell to pay.

No, they should not be prosecuted. They should be reviled, scorned, held in contempt. They are a purulent chancre on the posterior of humanity.
Their antics are the acts of cowards. Rest assured if the people at the funerals were permitted to physically respond to the Westboro crowd you wouldn't hear a peep from these clowns.

Unfortunately, such vile behavior is somewhat covered under the 1st Amendment. And I would fight for the right to express their view elsewhere. American service members deserve nothing but respect. But for the grieving families, I would give the WBC a new meaning to "bodily harm."

actually you are right in your logic just wrong in your syntax .There is no question they are in violation of the sedition acts but since no one has been prosucuted for decades ( WW1, I believe but perhaps WW2 or McCARTHY, I wish I was more certain) few even know of the actaul CRIME ,and these laws are still valid but treason is direct aid to a forgien enemy NOT domestic RETARDS . Hey we have a winner ,as late as feb 2006 a nurse who worked for the VA was charged with sedition! she was later cleared but at least we can stop these *******!

.Prosecuted for stupidity and total lack of decency. It's not treason to do what they are doing; we still have free speech in this country but it's reprehensible. The are not Christians they are lunatics.

I don't know that that's possible, but I swear to god if they show up at one of my buddies funerals they won't walk away from it. And I guarantee if they were to show up at mine that there would be trouble, not only from my battle buddies, but from my family. Would it be such a sin to just burn down their "church"?
