I have long, curly, darkish brown hair
I'm thinking maybe a plum or burgandy type color
Any opinions?

Definitley more of a plum... since your hairs so dark, it'll stand out better...

Try plum in the front and very thin ones all around but thick highlights of plum in the front.

yes make it a deep purple. lighter shades will look bad.
