In a highschool situation, does that seem realistic/right? the girl is a senior, the boy is a freshman..... is the girl a perv?.....does the boy just want bragging rights? Or, is this just an "age is just a number" situation?

age is just a number, but at that age, its more relevant, what would a 17 year old girl see in a 14 year old boy anyway! thats gross! not to mention illegal

I think you (the girl) is playing with fire. The boy is not mature enough to be in a relationship with a 17 year old. (that goes for the other way around also. Boy 17 and girl 14) The "age is just a number" does not come in to play until both are over 30 or maybe even 40. I don't think the girl is a perv, I don't know all that is involved, but if a 14 year old boy is the only boy she can find that has interest, I would guess she has low self esteem and or self image. Look in your own age group until you are over 18 then you don't have to worry as much about legal issues should the relationship go too far.

During the teenage years, you are maturing so fastly that I dont think the 'age is just a number' rule applies. A 17 year old wants different things out of a relationship than a 14 year old. A 17 year old has a lot of freedoms. They can drive, they have jobs, they can take care of themselves. 14 year olds are completely different.

You also have to think of the physical aspect of the relationship. A 17 year old may be ready for things emotionally that a 14 year old isn't yet.

If the guy is worth it, I think the girl can wait a few more years. Usually, a 3 year age difference isn't a huge deal... but there is a big difference between the mentality of a 14 year old and a 17 year old.

well, im really skeptical on this matter. if both people are above the age of 18 then no its not but considering its a highschool thing... ehhh....
If i was in school i would want someone my own age, esspecially 17, i wouldnt want a kid. I dont know about the bragging rights and stuff but, if the people really care about each other, let it be, if not id try talking to the people, just suggestions or something other than that. thats my opinion

I'm guessing you're in this situation, so I can totally relate. I'm a 16 year old girl and I've got a crush on a 13 well, almost 14, year old guy. I think he likes me, but I'm not sure because of the age difference. If this guy likes you, then I say go for it. I mean 14 year old girls date 17 year old guys all the time, right?

Besides the "lucky guy" attitude most of the guys are going to take, it's really just "age is a number" thing. Nothing pervy about it, though there might be considerations about "age of consent" if things get serious - just look up "Romeo and Juliet" clauses. If the people involved see nothing wrong with it, then just let it go...

There is not a lot of difference in age so i would have to say (Age is just a number).

The 17 yr old is young, and the 14yr old is
even younger, so if the 17yr old wants to stoop
to the 14yr level then she probably will not learn
anything about a relationship and what it means
to have one.

I don't really see why she would be interested in him unless she has some sort of a fetish
I'd think there would be more than enough 17 year old boys around...
