no longer right here in the united kingdom regrettably - we are envisioned to sit down down in silence, examine with our oppos, take heed to the Police Radios, and/or chat to the universal public. To be honest we do not get a lot down time the position I paintings in any respect, after we start up our shifts we continuously take over a particular quantity of calls that the finest shift did no longer have time to take care of, and we go on from there. 0300hours on a moist Sunday evening will be an excellent time to have one even with the truth that, and that i typically want lets.

It really depends upon the department, really. One department I've worked for had NO radios even installed in the cruisers. Other departments I've seen have them and it is ok....but as others have said...they still have to be able to hear dispatch, etc. and make sure it doesn't interfere with their jobs.

Yes. Most officers keep it real low though. You have to be able to hear what's going on around you - inside and outside the squad car.

with most departments they can i am sure that some do not let there officers do it by removing it form the car. the only "rule" is that you have to be able to hear dispatch and are not breaking any laws as far as noise.
