@ colleen b: You've missed my point. I can't "be quiet and listen to him" when I don't believe in him to begin with.
And you needn't tell me about free will. If God is God, then the only will that matters is his -- that's the Number One advantage of being omnipotent, doncha know.

@ norskeyenta: You've missed my point: If God is god, then there shouldn't be any atheists -- the question of belief shouldn't even come up.

@ kj7gs: Let me get this straight: The God of everything, doesn't own everything? Those who don't believe, don't matter anyway because they're not gonna be around forever? If Christians genuinely believed this then they would stop wasting all that effort on missionary work, because conversion is meaningless.
Then again, most Christians don't actually believe their own scriptures, do they?

Because God Is An Edmonton Oilers fan. And you Evil Canadians didn't put up roadblocks to stop Wayne Gretzky from playing in (ugh) Los Angeles. Obviously, you have all been forsaken for such a grievous offense.
Hey, it's as logical as any other explanation.

Very, very good question. If you've ever looked at Calvinism, you've hit on something very astute and very Biblical, and that is the fact that the ones that aren't drawn to Him, by Him, aren't His. It's uncomfortable to see "For God so loved the world" re-defined to a smaller world 2 verses later where "he who has not believed stands condemned ALREADY", but there it is. If you're an atheist, that should answer your question, but I would hope it would also scare you a little bit, I'd rather not be in the "condemned already" crowd m'self.

you have free agency. God promised to give us free agency and let us make our own choices. He can't make us do anything. that will help us mature and grow and have a chance to be independant. it's part of the Plan of Salvation, and is opposite of what the devil (Satan, Lucifer) desired in the pre-existance. it's all because God loves us. and Jesus will judge us on Judgement Day based on our actions and the true desires of our hearts.

The reason you have not believed in Him, is because you have not reached out to Him. You need to go to God and then He will be with you always. It is your choice. Why is it that so many people have the idea, everything should go to them and they don't do anything to reach out ?? The road goes two ways. Believing is not a one way road. It says: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. When you believe and worship God, then He will come to you in many ways. Then you must give Thanks. Do you do this ? You are falling short of the Glory of God. Go for it.

He made the angels believe in him. He wants you to chose to. Can you imagine being married to a man that loves you only because you forced him to? Or would you rather have a man that got close enough to you to know you and realizes your the greatest thing since sliced bread?

because He wants you to CHOOSE Him...He does not force anyone because that is not love. He is giving you the opportunity to find out about Him and He gives you the "need" for Him....but you have to make that choice yourself. If you pray to Him and honestly want to get to know Him He will manifest Himself to you....He has said that. His Word is the Bible....read that and you will get to know Him and believe in Him.

So, if this dude walking down the street falls in love with you he should make you feel the same? Force doesn't often equal love, not true love anyway.
If you force someone else to love you, is it real?

Maybe you are the one overlooking God. Maybe he has given you little details that you are not believing in. Be quiet and listen to him.
God does love you.

God didn't make you a robot, he gave you freewill. Its your choice to believe in him or not. He made the bible, and if you learn the "true" meaning of it, without all the lies and pagan teachings that 99.9 percent of christian faiths teach, it will be very easy to believe in him.
